T.pachanoi, Matucana (SuccSeed)
T.peruvianus, IcarosDNA (Herbalistics)
T.peruvianus, Huancabamba (SuccSeed)
The Huacabamba peruvianus is the only plant of 30 differend i sow that looks like pachanoi.
Sac red Succulents sell Huacabamba as pachanoi, i dont know, its the same. I can say because i have zero germination with the huancabamba seeds from SS.

Yes from Succ Seeds.

I certainly would not want say all the names of my plants are correct. I bought the plants under the names.Whilst these are wonderful plants I think most of the "pachanoi" look like varieties of peruvianus except for "pachanoi #3" in post 11.
I may be wrong obviously, but I think the longer spine pachanois look different to most of the ones in that post.
[edit] - I think lots are maybe a bit young to tell full characteristics too.
And i think you are right with the age of the plants. And also the grow conditions do a lot for the look. For me, my pachanoi #1 is a "true" pachanoi form. I read what mauve write, some forms of pachanoi have only long spines on the lower levels. Because for protection of animals.
Greetings
Ps: sorry for my bad englisch

Yes that can be true. The big spines grow this year in my first greenhouse season.Beautiful!
Odd to see peruvianus labeled pachanoi, but not uncommon, a lot of peruvianus seed has been sold as pachanoi.
pachanoi #2 is from a ethnobotanical shop from Netherlands.
pachanoi #4 is from Kakteen Schwarz seeds. I have a seed grown peruvianus from the same shop. Its dont looking similar.

I can not understand why people grow cacti under artificial light. it is expensive, bad for the environment and brings bad results. I grow only with sunlight and my cacti are so big already after 1 month. but whatever. what kind of water you use?, if you use tap water, it may be that it is too hard. then you can have to much calk salts in your substrate and the cacti stops to grow. It may also be that you had a bad seed. Sorry for my Bad english. Greeting
