  2. Better to be mad with everyone than to be sane all alone: so say the politicians. if all are mad, you'll be ;equal to them. and if you are alone sane, you'll be taken for mad. Baltasar Gracian 1601-1658 now here's a true story that happened to me. I went into a bar one day to have a beer. as I sat down I over heard a contractor on his phone getting all angry about some job that was not getting done on time. after the call he sat down next to me, and we both ordered the same beer. ok after a giday, he started to ask me a line of questions are you married, do you own a home, do I have a loan at a bank, do I follow the cricket, do I follow the football. to all these questions I answered no. he then looked at me with a puzzled look and said is there something wrong with you? my jaw dropped just for a moment. my look of what the f__k, went to a smile, then to full blown laughter. I stumbled of my chair like I had 10 beers and walked out the door sill laughing. so what wrong with world......nothing its our brain. http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/state-mind-psychology-control/ there is just 3 things that are needed to make us happy. good food, good shelter, and good friends.

    wanted Milky mushroom -Calocybe indica

i will be making some prints, Supermaught. i will make a few spares. i will let you know when i have. yes Psychonaut. the ones you see in the pics are in heat and lime pasteurized wheat straw, the same you would for oysters. 250ml (1 cup) hydrated lime to 45ltr of water and heat pasteurize 60c-70c for 60 min. recommended inoculation rates are usualy 5-6% but i have gone 10% to make up for the lack of nitrogen in the straw. well thats my the theory. i have heard of others adding lucerne hay to there straw. i have 10 other different combos x2 of substrates on the go with 3 different casings. so hopefully i will learn something from these. casing for the bags in the pics, is coco fibre 2 ltrs vermiculite 2 ltrs cal carbonate 200ml cal sulfate (gypsum) 200ml pasteurized at 60-70c for 60min another casing mix that is working just as well is the mix above, mixed with equal parts old horse poo. the others im trying are not ready yet. i have noticed that the bags that were inoculated in a ring around the outside have started 5 days earlier than the ones inoculated oyster style. incubating was done in complete darkness and has not effected the fruiting. why others recommend 12hrs light i don't know yet. i have just cased some identical bags 2 incubated in the dark and 2 in 12hrs of light per day. each type of mushroom is a different animal, so lets see what happens.

    all year round spawn incubator

yes hi Bush Turkey that would work. i had one of these made from a 50ltr set inside a 100ltr tub. i used it as a warmer with a 100w fish tank heater and it worked well. it held 8 1/2 gallon jars or 12 quart jars. it looked like this but was covered in insulation. i grew out of it because of the volume i do now. can get 24x 1/2 gallon jars in the fridge with a small gap between. for heating fridges a 75w reptile heater i found effective, a 50w one would just as well. old fridges are also good because they are, already insulated and you just have to open the door to check things out, unless you got it fully loaded. what you use all depends on volume budget and what you have on hand. hi Senior Lurker. i hunted all the parts down through ebay. the aluminium heat exchanger radiator, i see the price has gone up a little. but every thing else is about the same. here are the three main parts you need. all take a 8mm id (inner diameter) hose. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231021868292?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aluminum-Heat-Exchanger-Radiator-For-PC-CPU-CO2-Laser-Water-Cool-System-Computer-/221363359037?pt=AU_Components&hash=item338a48cd3d http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aluminum-Water-Liquid-Block-Thermoelectric-Cooling-Module-Plate-/390713433603?pt=AU_Components&hash=item5af855de03 the fan runs a air Flow of 38CFM, you don't need more than that. buy the time the air flow meets the resistance of the radiator then the coreflute funnel I made you can hardly even feel the air flow in the fridge. ideally you don't need any turbulence in your cultures. buy the way every thing is 12v.

The Legend of the Skull Mushroom

just Had to sign in to comment on this one. looks like a random pattern of nature to me. hey, have been wrong before. what happened to the great ozy yarn. its great fun to see who you can rope in. my girl friend likes skull mushrooms veracity of this tale? been a long day. pressure cooker has just finish I am 25min from bed
  10. purchased some yellow and pink oysters on dried grain. so I drop a gain on a few h2o2 agar plates and they covered the 90mm dishes in three days. well this didn't surprise me, I've grow other oysters before. but this did. I have read that some oyster strains produce asexual spores. my guess is this is what I am looking at. my question is, is this a problem off any sort. I am looking to, putting into slants for later growing and putting on grain for growing now. can I stop this from happening.

    yellow oysters produceing asexual spores

yes love to burn the carpet, but I rent. had the carpet steam clean before I set the room up. I lined the floor with builders plastic with a board under were the chair goes and taped it in to seal the chamber. the little white box has a hepa filter for vacuum cleaner with a small fan so I done suffocate or get wacked from isopropyl. I clean the chamber with bleach, before use each time and spray the room out before use. I buy sealed pre-sterilized plates. have several times left a agar plate in front of the flow hood. all good there. but its time I do it again. my agar mix is malt agar and yeast for oysters. what is OCD? I am 99% its the grain I purchased was problem.

    yellow oysters produceing asexual spores

something strange has happened. something I am not understanding. as you can see from the contam h202 dish at top I have taken some small peaces that I put on non-h2o2 agar. this what they look like 2 days later? you can still see the spots on the transfer in the middle. why has the mould taken off on the h2o2 plate and not on the non-h2o2.

    yellow oysters produceing asexual spores

looks like the verdict is mould. cheers all. just need to hunt down the source of contam. going to try some more dishes, but I am starting to think its the grain spawn because it grew with the mycelium. have gone so long without any contam that I have little experience in identifying it. I've seen it in the grow room but not in culture. nothing better for experience than things going wrong in this case. and everyone telling me the same thing. now I will need to give the my huge clean room a good clean

    yellow oysters produceing asexual spores

all my work is done in front of flow hood. I still not shore of it being mould. done both pink and yellow oysters on the same batch of agar and strait after each other. "but" on a separate sealed pack of dishes (this may be the vector) the pink are pure white, but the yellow plates all look the same. they have this evenly spread of black spots siting in/on white cotton. 'sorry' I don't believe it is mould, but yes I may be wrong. page 73 stamets ggmm Mycelium of Pleurotus cystidiosus and allies, species possessing both sexual and asexual life cycles. Black droplet structures contain hundreds of spores. there is a pic that goes with this. then on pg 74 In culture, these forms appear as "contaminants," confusing many cultivators. An excellent example is the Abalone Mushroom, Pleurotus cystidiosus and allies. (See Figure 57). shit am infringing copy R if it was the dishes, hell they all were full of spores, bad bad bad batch. at this stage I appreciate any comments.
