    My Kids

He is a true Albino. The only legal leucistics in Australia come from the Jag morph super form (Coastal carpet python reduced pattern mutation), though no Jag leucistic has ever survived past a couple months of coming out of the egg. I bought him for his tully pattern - dorsal stripe and side saddle patterning - and he is the sweetest little kid, hasn't once tried to bite me, whether from hunger or from being defensive.

What did you do in your sacred garden today?

I planted a Bhut Jolokia that I bought. I also planted a couple carob seeds, after letting them soak for a couple days. Noticed a couple nicotiana rustica seedlings pop up and counted how many peganum harmala seedlings have popped up - now up to 40 seedlings

    Wildlife Photography

I figured this would be the appropriate section to post these photos in. Over the previous Christmas holidays I spent a month on the coast and managed to get a lot of decent wildlife photos - well, I think they are decent lol. Most of these photos are from that period, though some are more recent, since being back at home. I was going to post the photos, individually, here, but it was taking forever. So, I decided to just post a link to the thread I started in another forum. Once you click the link you will realise I am a reptile lover - I have three pythons and one elapid. They are my children lol. Here is the thread. http://www.aussiepythons.com/forum/field-herping-reptile-studies-5373/years-herping-far-203033/ Hope you enjoy my photography

    BBs Garden

I took a couple new photos this arvo Now that my B.caapi is over 1ft tall I decided to plant it out into the ground, up against a fence in which it can spread across. My little H.salicifolia has started flowering. I now have a couple N.rustica seedlings showing through; pretty stoked that they have germinated. Enjoy

    BBs Garden

Thought I would pop up some update photos and some photos of the new kids on the block I'm not 100% sure what species this is, but it has a nice little flower. Echinopsis Oxygona flower. Echinopsis huascha flower. Due to my camera settings I had to turn the vibrance all the way down to have clarity in the petals, which made the photo look pretty cool IMO. Acacia acuminata seedlings; the first one died, though four more have popped up. The second one to pop up is coming along nicely and is a bit over an inch tall now. Salvia splendens seedlings. First catha seedling to germinate, it is about 1cm tall now. It looks a bit demented because I sprayed it with water and it has some beaded water between the leaves. California poppies coming along nicely, probably should thin them out a little bit. Some more poppies coming along. Finally had some luck with peganum harmala, a couple seedlings have popped up. The seedling in the middle is the only bat winged coral tree that I had success with, it was over an inch tall one week after being sowed. The coleus branch that fell off is coming along nicely as well. The caapi and brugs are going strong, though the brugs has been attacked by insects. One of the ipomoea cuttings have survived, and on the left is my newest member to the family Since getting my p.viridis I thought it had died, though recently it has shown new growth at the nodes. New growth, only about 1mm each. New leaves growing on my coffee plant. My Acacia baileyana purpurea has taken off recently with lots of new purple growth. Almost forgot, my newest growing adventure. I'm guessing they are just button mushrooms, but thought it would be cool to grow them. Hope you guys enjoy the newest installment of photos from my garden

    BBs Garden

Cheers Jox, yeah I probably should have waited a bit longer, though I dipped the cross sections in powdered sulfur and then let them sit for a couple hours before planting them.

    BBs Garden

I noticed a garden full of either trichocereus spachiana or trichocereus schickendantzii across the road, while standing out the front of my friends place having a ciggie. I went back there today and the lady that lived there was nice enough to let me take a few cuttings. These are the three I chose. I grabbed a thicker one for potting up, and two thinner ones to be planted in the ground. The thicker one is about 60cm, while the thinner ones are about 70cm. I've decided to call these two the Twin Towers. Haven't named this one. My growing cactus collection. I'm getting some spineless opuntia from my friend soon The lemon mint has been flowering for the last month or so, so thought I'd take a couple photos of some fresher flowers.

    don't cha love it when...

Don't you love it when the first seedlings of a species you planted start to pop up And when you hit first place in your NBA fantasy league for the first time in the season.

Have you seen any cool movies lately??

I watched The World's End on Friday night, was pretty damn funny - your typical Simon Pegg/Nick Frost movie. Going to watch Pawn Shop Chronicles tonight, seems like it will be pretty good.

    A few cacti identifications

Cheers for the reply. The third one doesn't seem to become columnar, it acts very similar to the first two; it clumps, spreading horizontally. The largest head amongst the group was about 20cm high and 15cm wide. Apparently they have been growing there for a number of years and this is the first time I have noticed them, even though I have walked that way over 100 times lol.

What did you do in your sacred garden today?

While watering my plants today I noticed something unexpected. I planted some peganum seeds over 6 weeks ago and haven't watered them for about three weeks thinking they wouldn't take. Lo and behold, one seedling has popped up. I guess it is true that they thrive when being abused. Hope it continues to grow and doesn't die. Here's the little fella And something else (unknown) that has seemed to pop up in there at the same time.
