My first Lophophora Williamsii :)
InnerPathsToOuterSpace replied to InnerPathsToOuterSpace's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Just thought I'd add to this thread, it's been about two weeks since I received my Loph and was wondering if I should give him a bit of water? The soil medium is completely dry and the loph is a little soft to the touch (if I lightly push the edge of my fingernail into the skin it will will leave a little imprint for several seconds before it disappears) which I read is common when they are ready for some water. It has been around 30 degrees celsius for the past few days too. Also, is it best to water from the bottom - such as leaving the terracotta pot in a dish of water to soak up from the bottom up? -
Hi all, A few days I received my first Lophophora Williamsii from herbalistics. It is roughly 40mm in diameter which would make it around 3-4 years old. Here is a photo: Potted up in about 40% cacti/succulent potting mix (osmocote brand), 30% perlite and 30% crushed up brick. A shallow layer of rocks on the bottom of a terracotta pot and some rocks on the soil surface too as seen in the above photo. I gave it a decent water after I potted it up. Any tips from the loph growers on the forum is welcome, how often to water, good fertilizers, etc. For lack of originality I think I shall call him Mescalito! Cheers everyone

My first Lophophora Williamsii :)
InnerPathsToOuterSpace replied to InnerPathsToOuterSpace's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Thanks for the tips every one. That sounds like a good plan Philocacti, I would like to produce more down the line to give to a few friends as well as add more to my own collection. -

Thanks Sally and mimzy. Damn about the watering after I repotted him... oh well, too late now, fingers crossed that it doesn't damage the roots. I won't water for a couple of weeks now. He is going to be an indoor plant, kept next to a big sliding door that faces onto a north facing verandah. No direct sunlight, just indirect. -
Here is a thread over at the dmt-nexus were a few people have bio-assayed smoking the flowers of Dendrobium Nobile and reported a cannabinoid like high with a bit of stimulant edge: https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=50985 I've been following the thread with interest. I hope this helps

Salvia Plant ID from Bunnings :)
InnerPathsToOuterSpace posted a question in Plant Identification (non-cactus)
Hi there everyone, I was just in my local Bunnings perusing there gardening section and stumbled upon this plant that simply had the label "Salvia" on it: I am curious what type of Salvia this might be? (and yes, I realise it would not be of the diviners type ) Cheers plant people! -
What are your spiritual/religious views?
InnerPathsToOuterSpace replied to Bert&Ernie's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Thanks for the video links Spine Collector, I'll check them out as soon as a have a spare moment -
I generally agree with this assessment. Not that it makes the majority bad people, just uninformed and media brainwashed. I was flabbergasted that Abbott got in considering how much of a redneck he is, and unless there was some foul play in the ballot system, it means the majority voted him in and I wouldn't be surprised if a big reason for this was because of the Murdoch controlled media monopolies complete favouritism for Abbott and Rudd's portrayal in the mass media as a clown and a bad guy...

What are your spiritual/religious views?
InnerPathsToOuterSpace replied to Bert&Ernie's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Lately, Gnosticism has made a lot sense to me. The idea of confirmation by direct experience. Pantheism and panentheism also appeals to me, sometimes the most spiritual and sacred I have felt is amongst nature and the natural world. -
Books that have changed your life and why
InnerPathsToOuterSpace replied to Halcyon Daze's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
When I was a wee sprout, maybe 13 or 14 I finally grokked the concept of death and freaked out. My spiritually minded mother handed me a book called "A Soul's Journey" by Peter Richelieu, a fiction based off of the eastern concept of death and reincarnation put into terms that a western mind could grasp easier... it completely changed my whole world view and concepts on life and the universe. I am still undecided, and most likely always will be, about the definitive answers (if they do exist at all) but the book gave me a sense of hope for the continuation of consciousness after death. -
I like the sound of this approach. Great to know there is a solid push for this in three states... a push in the right direction at least.

Salvia divinorum and kratom will become illegal in NSW in the next few days.
InnerPathsToOuterSpace replied to Torsten's topic in News & Notices
Thanks for that Torsten. Wouldn't surprise me if it falls under legislation, laws seem to be getting tighter and tighter as the year progresses. To paraphrase Terence McKenna - the notion of illegal plants is obnoxious and ridiculous to begin with. I'll be interested to see the outcome once it passes though. -

Yes, I was able to grab a few 20 gram packets from Koda before it all goes belly up again. It would be nice to know if live plants were legal within NSW though, not sure if the change in legislation only applies to dried material and extract only... As for saliva? Wouldn't surprise me if the government makes that illegal eventually too, who knows, it might have a minute amount of endogenous alkaloids that fall under scheduling -

Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Does this end of the legal loophole mean that live Salvia Divinorum plants and cuttings are also now illegal in NSW? The drug and plant laws just keep getting worse as the year goes by
