    "Illicit diversion of pseudoephedrine in Australia has caused significant changes to the way pseudoephedrine products are regulated. As of 2006, all products containing pseudoephedrine have been rescheduled as "Pharmacist Only Medicines" (Schedule 3). As a result, a pharmacist must be directly involved in every transaction involving the sale of pseudoephedrine to members of the public, and such medicines will be kept behind the counter, away from public access. Such measures are designed to ensure that the medicines are needed for a legitimate purpose. Pharmacists are also required lodge the purchase with an online database called PROJECTSTOP. This database records each purchase of pseudoephedrine products, tracking the customers drivers license or 18+ card. This system was put in place to stop drug mules driving from Sydney to Cairns (a trip of 3000km or 1875mi) purchasing a small box of pseudoephedrine at every pharmacy along the way. When the database is used 3 modes of sale can be used. One allows the sale (as "no match" was found), one denies the sale and the third, called a safety sale, is when the product was sold under duress. Certain preparations containing significantly high amounts of pseudoephedrine are further restricted as "Prescription Only Medicines" (Schedule 4).

    As of April 2007, the Australian government is considering the prohibition of all medications containing pseudoephedrine."

    No nothing sinister on my behalf.......

    My brother in-law OD'd awhile back while in the company of a call girl & the investigations are still continuing. I had some pretty open conversations with him in regards to drug use & his thing was always stimulants, the last time I saw him (3 weeks before his death) we had a ball on HBWS (Thanks Gom some good memories there). He was a fly in fly out miner that had alot of $ to spend. The lady he was with was known to the police as a Heroin user & there are a few things that just dont quite add up about her statement of events & since her last meeting with investigating officers she has gone underground. He had consumed many, many beers (according to his work mates & the pub staff) before this lady picked him up from the pub & we all know that "H" & Alcohol are not the best to mix :(

    His family have a meeting with the coroners office next week and just wanted abit of info on said subject!

    All very sad as he was a top bloke & seeing as I only have sister's I really considered him as a brother as we shared many of the same intrests.

    Hi Everyone :)

    Trying to find out some info on......

    The law regarding someone administrating an Illegal drug to someone

    who then overdose's or dies due to the substance that has been

    administrated.... Australian related.

    Specifically after any cases where someone has been convicted of

    administrating Heroin to someone that has overdosed...

    Any help would be GREATLY apreciated or if someone could just point me

    in the right dirrection that would be wonderful to say the least as my

    searches are not coming up with much related to Australia.

    after considerable trouble finally got a script for this one. for those unfamiliar it's touted as inducing "alertness without stimulation", unlike other drugs like speed etc.

    . it's usually used for narcolepsy but if you say pretty please the doc may prescribe.

    You must have a bloody nice Dr mate as It's a Schedule 4 prescription drug, that clearly states that it can only be used by people suffering Narcolepsy, was it a one off script or are you still using it?

    Some people have all the luck ;)
