ooops, i don't qualify please ignore

don't look like subs to me. have you taken a spore print for any of them?
-
unlikely to be the case if they pop up in the warmer months.
-
wow, impressive collection!
-
did you get a print from any of the one in the photo herbal hindsight?
-
wow, im blown away by that fly agaric picture. such incredible detail!
-
spore prints are pretty handy for identifying mushrooms. you've got a much better chance of getting a solid id for most mushrooms with one.
-
also great picture herbal hindsight, they really are beautiful specimens. the younger specimens look quite similar to a lot of subs ive seen but im not used to seeing the caps flatten out to that extent with age.

sorry to get a bit off topic but just wanted to mention that A. muscaria aren't restricted solely to pine trees. they also form symbiotic relationships with introduced birch and beech trees and native southern beech (Nothofagus sp.)
-
i like this, i saw it a while ago but then forgot about it. thanks for posting
-
im thinking something from the genus Hypholoma. there are a few species that have distinctive greenish yellow gills on younger specimens which become darker as spores mature. edit: should have a purple-brown spore print if that's the case
-
thats strange hunab, are you sure there weren't any tree stumps hidden under the rubble? A. muscaria are ectomycorrhizal fungi and form symbiotic relationships with a number of trees. as far as im aware they require them to survive

genki replied to genki's topic in News & Notices
im on the mailing list now so will hopefully get a bit more notice for upcoming events. -
i know its exceptionally late notice but i only just found out myself. if anyone is free come on down and show your support for tasmanias old growth forests
-
perhaps this would be better asked at one of those other forums where more people are likely to give you an answer. not many people in australia will be ordering one to find out
-
forgot to add nice finds!

looks like brown-ish spores on the annulus and stem of that big white mushroom, not an Amanita if thats the case. edit: maybe Cortinarius sp.
-
definitely not active. spore prints are very helpful when when trying to identify mushrooms. to take one separate to cap from the stem and sit it gills side down on a piece of white paper (or black if you think it has white spores) or a piece of foil.

went for a walk today in the eastern suburbs and found a patch of 20 or so tiny little subs. left my camera at home so no pics unless i can work out how to get them off my phone. i had a look at some of last years patches and they havent started fruiting yet.
