i've just had huge (HUGE!) success in germinating a few different nicotiana species, now it's warming up (a bit) down here (in melbourne) it seems all go. if you're into planting by the moon, give tues, wed, thurs, fri next week a go ;-) i think i did my homework at some point and spring may be the way to go but i don't remember much - just don't plant them all at once.

does anyone know a good(cheap) source of seives for sorting seeds from the other rubbish i'm always going crazy trying to remove from the seeds i harvest? I've found some really nice ones that are right out of my budget but i'm going to remain confident that the perfect sieve set is out there somewhere

i disagree - just avoid using, carrying, buying and selling drugs there, pretty easy really. or get into the arak, betel nuts, and some of the other legal plants the island has to offer.that and it helps when you know the local cops (ours live next door to my dads hotel there and are good friends) i enjoy spending a month or two in Bali each year in the central mountains - good for a detox and to clear your head - and the dreams you have on that island rock!
