I was once picking on a property near Maclean in NNSW when the farmer arrived on tractor and asked what I was doing.
"Just looking for mushrooms" I replied.
"Those mushrooms will kill ya."
"Nah"
"Well next time, just come up to the house down the road and ask."
"OK. sorry"
So a couple of days later I did just that. Drove in the drive, navigated the pack of ferocious looking dogs madly barking away and rang the door bell. I was then greeted by the farmers son - all six foot six of him.
"I just wondered if you'd mind if I looked for mushrooms in your paddock up the road?" I managed to ask whilst consciously tightening my sphincter and secretly wondering if I could outrun this guy and his dogs.
"No worries mate, just as long as you don't leave any rubbish behind".
Best picking session ever - totally free of paranoia. This, however, was 20 years ago so times may have changed but I think you've just got to bold and give it a go. Surely the worst that can happen is they say no.
hahhaha 1 in a million i rekon

Got one, their a great looking tree =) The skins of the Brazilian grape's are used as a medicine too. I cant recall now what for though. feeling its rather general.
as far as worldwide goes, dont know about worldwide as such but i think they got round well in short time. Reports of them growing wild up round toowoomba are more than 20 years old now. I however can not recall seeing one in the wild. I could never forget that!
I could however walk right past it without it's fruits =(
i have 1 or 2 seeds left halcyon
@ ghostly they are a spectacular looking tree thats for sure the 1 @ work is over 20 years old and shes a stunner.. i also have seen them around the coast growing wild the birds love moving the seed around ..
no more seeds for now , thanks

Hey Bullit, since you obviously know your shit about avos, do you have any recommendations for a good variety that grows well and sets a decent amount of fruit in the Adelaide region? I have heard the "bacon" cv. is suppsed to be good in the cooler climates like here and Melbourne but read it only fruits for about 2 months of the year.
hey man, like the bacon u mentioned u can also try wurtz its a semi dwarf ,beautiful weeping tree that has a bronze new growth.
