Dichotomous tbm, cut from a crest and grafted.. will update here on any new growth, hoping to see the crest continue growth, maybe it will turn into normal tbm? *double post, from grafts/updates thread to here..

ok thanks mutant, I'm also trying to root a piece of the crest, its been months, almost rotted, almost shriveled up to nothing.. but looks like it might be finally rooting.. seems tbmc is harder to root then tbm, at least for me..

Chopped these dichotomous dicks off a tbm crest.. Interested to see if the crest will continue or if it will pup like tbm

no, just 1 or 2, the main plant is still growing but the pups eventually just stalled... some pretty freaky looking ones, which is why i want to graft them. ill try get some photos next time I'm there.

has anyone noticed deformities with bap? i haven't successfully use it before but a friend rubbed some onto some trichs and all the pups grew monstrose, only got a cm or 2 big then stopped growing... I'm wondering if cutting the deformed pups off and grafting them would keep them monstrose or probably just revert or throw a normal pup I'm guessing.. might get some bap out today and have a go at it...

Thanks! And im glad to hear you bailed a few times mesq as i did to, lol.. Didnt want to but something got in the way and needs to be resolved first. Hopefully theyll accept me again in the future and not think i stuffed them around. Gave them plenty of notice.. In the mean time ill sit at home until i get the opportunity to do the course again.. Thanks zelly, i think im understanding now.. Still trips me out, I just walked past the cacti in my area that im chasing an id on and forgot to take a photo. It may be slightly different to the pics i got on google.. It definitely does not self pollinate though which is why i feel it must be different. Anyway ill get some better photos and go from there. Thats really weird, as i believe they are so different. Ill try get photos of the local plant.. whats i find weird is they look so different, and only this 1 with the spines sets fruit / self pollinates, and the other doesnt.. i havent tried crossing them but id imagine plant 2 would set fruit with plant 1 pollen.. Im curious as a member on the forum wants cereus seeds, not peru though.. Really didnt think they would both fall under peru / hildman... Interesting. Thanks eg

Thanks eg! Im confused as there is another in my area with much smaller spines, doesnt self pollinate, atleast never sets fruit and is also called peruvianus.. Clearly only 1 is, no doubt the above.. I dont have photos from the local plant but i will see what i can drag off google.. Cheers
