    Cannabis Induced Psychosis

Acknowledged, I mixed withdrawl symptoms up with the psychosis. I understand that it is not a true psychosis and I suppose it only bares some resemblance to a true psychosis. Most notable symptoms that come to mind are intense paranoia; scared to go into bright public places like a shopping centre, Thinking that friends or the whole world are working against you, or plotting to kill you,ect another symptom is some megalomania, delusions of grandeur, strange powers ect and others;, Getting stuck in the same train of thought, Dwelling over something for a long period of time Its important to note that these symptoms only persist while they are being fed with copious amounts of cannabis, and after stopping cannabis they cease quickly. So I suppose they are really only short term effects that come about from an extended period of being stoned. I retract my crazy talk statement

    Cannabis Induced Psychosis

excellent post greeny, glad to hear that you pulled through it all. I know a large percentage of people here (including myself) are advocates for the medical/ theripeutical use of cannabis but I think some people are in denial that cannabis can and does cause a specific form of psychosis, and greeny has described it well. I have experienced psychosis in the past from 'chronic' smoking of weed over a period of 4 years. When i say chronic I mean smoking 3-8 pipes/ bongs, 3-4 times per day and triple that on the weekend. It becomes a lifestyle, and I think this is what greeny was saying. The reason for his messed up diet and sleep ect were part of the lifestyle resulting from totally chronic weed smoking? As for cannabis revealing latent psychosis, well can someone explain that one to me? Because I dont see how someone who displays psychosis from marijuana usage can be proved that they would have experienced that later in life, or that it was lying dormant. The only thing that would be solid fact to go on would be the family history of mental illness. But if someone develops a state of psychosis from smoking marijuana then any later episodes could be said to be the result of psychosis induced by cannabis earlier on in life. Ah! thats crazy talk. Thats not unlike saying 'smoking crack cocaine will bring out latent psychosis, you went nuts and killed your friend, the crack brought it all out into the open, your friends dead, you are in jail, now that you have got that out of your head you should be better. I have seen other people also develop a psychosis, it bares a resemblance to amphetamine psychosis where the sufferer usually becomes extremely violent and aggressive when they are not stoned, couple this with huge paranoia of people plotting against you ect and it could have a serious result.
  7. Hey all, long time no speak. I have been thinkn about this one for a while now, mainly because I have been in a situation where entheogen use finds little precious time. Its like abstaining from something much desired, but I just havent had that perfect time and place situation arise. Back a little bit, where entheogen use was verging on abuse it was like my soul and mind were constantly being refreshed, but also my body/ vessel were deprived of health. So it was like my mind and spirit was always refreshed and healthy but my body was way out of tune with them. Now for a long time (years) of almost complete abstinesnce from spritual indulgences my mind and spirit feel a little neglected and thrashed out, while my body is healthy. So there is the opposite in imbalances occuring now. I feel like its time to push the reset button, with the use of carefully selected entheogens/ entheogen. To start everything a fresh and give my mind and spirit some time together. Just like where a powerfull mushroom trip takes you back to infancy, it takes you to hell, and it shows you a heaven and it scares the fuck out of you so much that you wish you had never had them, and you wish you could just end the trip. And then, when its all winding down, you crawl out of your hole that you have been hiding in and laugh like a baby as you experiece things as if for the first time. Like the sound of a metal spoon opening a coffee tin in the silence, or the sound of hot water being poured into a mug. And whist you experience this near death feeling, (Intensely negative side of trip). You plan your future from this point on, which usually includes never touching entheogens again. It is as if their use paves the future for you, or they are the tool with which to pave your future. 'I will get a new job' or a new partner or do this or do that; things that maybe you couldnt change before or didnt even see why they should be changed. Like a revelation,,,''Oh fuck, i understand now why so and so are always upset, because they dont get any attention from so and so,, ect' A big bright light comes on you can formulate a plan to correct these things. These are just some thoughts rolling off my tongue, i have some questions what are the implications of hitting that reset button? How often do you think is a balance between spiritual health and physical health? What if you never hit that reset button again? Does your mind/ spirit age faster? that was a mouthfull,,, cheers dudes
  8. I think the way to go about all of this is to try to find alternate sources, or make a bigger deal about plentiful sources that can be grown from readily availiable seed. So then the emphasis will be put onto more sustainable species of acacias and the phleb will hopefully fade into the background, and be disregarded as a source of tryptamines
  9. This is true, I was a little angry at the time.
  10. Phlebs should be completely barred from ethnoheads, the collection of seed should be pursued to ensure the species isnt completely lost. Maybe some other surrounding areas should be planted out with them. There are plenty of other more plentiful sources out there

What qualifies as a sterile print?

So we have all read many teks on different sites about spore printing. I wont post a link now unless someone requests one. So in theory i have mushrooms grown in a controlled enviroment, they mature I pick them with gloved hands and as carefully as possible set the caps down in a glovebox on some computer paper or foil that has been sprayed with 70% ethanol and allowed to dry in the glovebox when the prints have dropped sufficiently (12-24hr something) put them in fresh baggies in the sterile glove box. does this qualify as a 'sterile print'? Could I truthfully claim to have 'sterile prints'? In analysis, and technically speaking the prints may or may not be sterile. Yes most avenues were pursued in attempt to make the print as sterile as possiblem, within reason. A good percentage to 100% may in fact be sterile. To be 100% sure of sterility though one would have to go to ridiculous measures such as growing the mushrooms invitro and then printing in a glovebox/ flowhood and printing onto autoclaved mediums and placed into gamma sterile bags. I very much doubt that many people would grow completely invitro. everytime you mist the enviroment or provide unfiltered air there is a good chance that contaminants may find their way onto the underside of the mushroom. By no means am i discrediting peoples efforts at minimising contams. I just get confused. Is there an accepted, standard, sterlility level? eg; If I print 100 in a dirty open air enviroment and later test 10prints for viability/ contams and find that out of the ten, all ten are viable and zero contams are present I could state statistically that 100% are sterile even though no sterile processes where adhered to. What do the mycos think on this? Cheerio

Yep they are subs. I can see some lovely blueing around the edge of the cap, of the one, on the far left. Nice one

    ideas on sterilization and mediums

I just use a big clear storage bin that cost about $10, cut holes for arms and use plastic bags as gloves. Takes a bit of co-ordination but success rate would be somewhere around 95% when in combination with a 70:30 metho:water spray. I have never used syringes either, its a long story. I have always just used barbaric techniques like pouring straight into jars from a shot glass with spore solution. I have had very few problems. It pays at first to follow a tek, but there is certainly plenty of room for improvisation. My favoured method now by far is doing agar to grain. I would suggest, as someone mentioned previously that you invest in some sort of incubation / heating device as you wont get much action in cold temps

Yep, you need a PC. Especially if you are working from a print.

    Catha edulis

Anyone got any Catha edulis seeds to trade? things I can trade for them; Peganum harmala seeds T.Spachianus cuttings / pups Cereus Peruvianus, var Montrose pups Amnita muscaria spore prints p.sub spore prints p.cubensis spore prints (all spore prints are technically non sterile, though care has been taken to keep them as sterile as possible) Have other stuff aswell to trade
  16. That is very fragmented dude, very scattered stuff
  17. medicinedan

LC instead of agar for clones?

you can, but you will probably make things hard for yourself in the long run. Harder to spot contams. If It does contam, you cant isolate any clean myc ect.. Go the extra effort and do the agar I reckon

Oh its Time for idiots again...

I cant imagine anyone disrespecting the forest after they have experienced subs on a heavy level

Oh its Time for idiots again...

There will always be people like this that run amok in the forest, unfortunately. They tend to be young people 16-19ish i think. I hate to say it but I remember back in the day on my first few hunts when I was about 16-17 I had little respect and turned over a good number of shrooms. It wasn't long before I developed a sence of respect though, long before I had found what I was actually looking for. Given a certain amount of time alot of these patch abusers will mellow out and gain respect, well lets hope so anyway.

    Catha edulis Question

I have one that grew a lot through summer and its the same deal. It has really big leaves at the top and when it gets watered it flops over, so I staked it and its sweet now. I would love to see some peoples pics of their Khat. I will post a pic of mine if I get the time.
