I realise this is a bit of a moot request but interested in your thoughts. I have this labeled as T. Colossus which I'm not sure is a real name anyway plus it doesn't look like the pics when googling. It's very fat, double the width of a wine bottle. New growth has short spines but the old growth has a very distinctive long central downward facing spine. Anyway it's an interesting cacti and I look forward to it getting large and flowering. The new growth looks similar except the central spine on the old growth is about 25-30mm long

Thanks EG, good info. The plant is only about 400mm tall with the pup on top. Its a very fat mid cut which has rooted and pupped. Just going to have to wait where this one goes! Getafix

Another beautiful Bullit grown seed. D. metel (triple purple) I think, may have mixed up the labels but am sure Bullit will confirm. Beautiful. Getafix -

what's wrong with this world?
Getafix replied to DiscoStu's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
I think we all know whats wrong with this world... It hows we define ourselves against a backdrop of unimaginable bad and unimaginable good that will determine how much enjoyment we get out of life in our dirty playground. I cringe, cry and bleed empathy at the woes of this world but I also celebrate every high natural or chemical. As Fancy Pants says 'Its a wonderful time to be alive'. Getafix -
Most lizards are not poisonous. Komodo Dragons are not actually venomous as such but carry very bad bacteria in their mouths. With larger prey like large cattle etc they will attack and bite and then wait for the bacteria to kill the beast, this can take days. I guess it is a poison of sorts but not a neurotoxin like a snake etc. Getafix

So cool, I fucking love lizards Getafix

Well I thought I would try again to see if anyone out there may have had a small cut or seedling of Validus and Taquimbalensis? I have just given away a heap of seedlings so not much to trade at this point but more than happy to pay a good price, just feel my collection is not quite complete without the above. I do have a bunch of seedling coming along from Nitrogens mutant crosses which I will gladly pass along once big enough. Cash now and some seedlings later is what I have to offer if anyone can help me. Thanks Getafix

Thanks mate. I share many of your sentiments on Bunnings. Just so happened to be there for most probably a sausage in bread when I found this. Had a huge fight with the missus about buying a ridiculously over priced cactus to add to my 7 million I already had but had an inkling it was special!! About 2.3mtrs I reckon. It has grown from 500mm to that height in 2.5 yrs. Cheers mate

This amazing Peru. Best Bunning's find ever. Getafix

What lucky cacti got his end away here???
Getafix posted a question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Well not exactly an id request as I know half of what this hybrid is. Rosei 1 open pollination. The first pic is from the same seedlings and looks very much like a Peru (Rosei) but what do you think got in to the next beauty?? Stunning Trich seedling. I am thinking Werdermannius/Terscheckii.. All the spines are golden/yellow. Not reflected in the photo but they are. What do you think?? Getafix -
Never thought I would be asking this because I really haven't cared but after making up labels again today for all my plants it appears it bugs me!! I am pretty good at id'ing Trichs but to be honest I still have no idea what is a true Pach and what is PC. Well at least not visually anyway. Have a look at the plants below and tell me what you think. Thanks for looking at a tired subject, I know, humour me! Plant 1. Plant 2. Plant 3. Plant 4.

EG I have to agree but I bought these as tiny seedlings from a trusted member so I must assume they are what they are labelled. I agree they look like lovely Scops to me too. Getafix
