They're gray and they look like dots Kinda like scales but scales are red and circular, and can be removed quite easily I've tried removing them by hand but couldn't

Tried scraping them off, the surface of the the leaf also gets scraped off.

I was so desperate to saving my plant... I looked on the roots and saw shoots then I cut them off just to save the plant. A few days later I remembered the plants having rhizomes... lol So here's the progress

Those are beautiful cacti. I got a few, in fact I have a VERY variated garden. Today, I thought of replacing my cacti soil. Instead of all sand (which was gray sand, think construction sand), I turned it into a 1:1 compost-sand and a shovelful of bromeliad mix (I don't know why it just banged in my head, but it's not much). This was done on the pot that has 3 species of cacti. I didn't bother replacing the soil of the other since it is very spiking, penetrating even my gloves.

I have this Toshiba Satellite Laptop which was given to me by me uncle. it just shuts down without warning, i tried plugging it in without the battery (which was not much of a help since it lasted for less than an hour) but the problem's still there. What can I do? Is there something wrong with the laptop?
