  1. but instead of a mirror, use magnified glass and you will achieve power with just the size of 1 of those mirrors, you can hit over 2000 deg C easily.

this large scale $150m bullshit is actually holding the industry back! Every house could have a power station on their roof.

So are you saying to make one big magnifying glass the size of that mirror array or that magnifying glasses magically "add more sun" to a given area?

either way, no that doesnt work.

  2. Are oxfam really trying to say that if the $240 billion was given to starving people, that they would then have enough money to feed themselves for the rest of thier lives? and thier children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc on down the line?

To say it would end poverty is silly, it may for 1 year or even one generation, but forever, no way, when peoples cultures arent weighted towards working hard/smart, then poverty will always come back no matter how much money you give them.

  3. bullit: My water is disgustingly chlorinated too - I have a charcoal filter and a ceramic filter to remove taste for drinking - i water my plants with this filtered water too - maybe thats where the lack of nutirents is? Do filters remove trace minerals? it's a .5 micron ceramic filter and charcoal.

I would not think minerals would gather in rainwater as it falls, so i woudlnt think there should be any problem with the water being nutrient free.

  4. I dont really understand everything you said there, it is hard to follow.

But i am not against a change in the system or for brainwashing, i hate all form of advertising to the point where i refuse to advertise my own business most of the time.

All i was saying is that credits are dangerous, they are easy to manipulate, far too easy to produce and cannot be accounted for properly in the current world.

the point of posting that video is to show that we already run on a credit system basically and it is screwing everything, there should be no more "money in the world" than there is physical money.

I dont really want to take this thread off topic, but a nice comparison to real world "credits" is the credits used in MMORPGs, there MUST be a way of credits being destroyed if the system is to have any sort of balance what so ever, i cannot see anyone destroying credits IRL.

  5. "Possibly the only way that might work is credits. Forget Orwellian inspired 6th amendment freedoms, your not a slave to the government, your a slave to the system and the system is based on the fragile guessing game of printed money. Printed money, gets washed, lost, burnt, buried. I believe that the folly of this is an estimated calculated game of roullette where money must be carefully reprinted as to avoid inflation. That doesnt mean much to you and i, except that we are manipulated by money.

Shock horror - what if instead of paying those cadets with money from the government "pool", they are issued.....credits. The credits are dollar for dollar as valuable as real money but exist as controlled numbers."

Credits are dangerous. It is what banks use these days to give you your home loan.

  6. indeed, as what i meant to say is that middle class westerners have more than 80% of the worlds population (going by statistics that ~80% of the wolds population lives below $10 a day).

That still doesnt make alot of sense, if you meant 80% of the money / power, i think you'll find china has 100% of everything these days.

  7. That cant be right... Does that mean for example that if the company I contract to re roof my house sends me a bill rather than an account statement and doesnt hand deliver the original copy of that bill to me with wet blue signatures... I can accept for payment the copy of the bill they have sent me forcing them to send me the money for the bill which I subsequently return to them as payment?

Surely not, if so, couldnt the company or manager simply pull the same trick on you, with the same bill, creating a never ending loop?

  8. it can be a curing process...

not with shrooms normally, but bud to change the thc's into higher delta somethings.. ie more psychoactive. but most stoners wouldnt have the patience :). wouldnt take 2 days.. years can turn something pretty magical.

only example i can think of, except for pituri :drool2:

No way i would bury my weed, as THC's break down with time, i cannot see it getting stronger in any way.

Having grown before and having stored some underground for safety reasons, having it come up mouldy even after going down 100% dry (or as close as i could get in, in the middle of summer) and being in a totally sealed container, i wouldnt leave it there for long enough to try it, not because im inpatient, but because theres a very high likelyhood that you will get 0% smokable weed at the end of it.

If you guys mean not sealed, so the dirt can get at it. Well that would end even worse.

  9. I am not a scientist, lets establish that first, i dont work on fake meat. I, nor anyone has any idea what might come in the future because of fake meat.

Well, i suppose the easiest way to "explain" it would be. How did diseases/virus', etc form in the first place?

If a living creature can get diseases/ have diseases develop simply because there is a host/victim there - with the ability to fight off such diseases, then i cannot see having the same living meat without an immune system as being a good thing.

Without acutally having the virus, such meat would be the equivelant of a creature with AIDS, unless pumped full of antibiotics, anything which came in contact with it while it was "alive and being grown" could threoretically infect it, with nothing to inhibit that.

Because this would be a mass produced product with no ability to defend itself, it would be open to a wider range of diseases than would not normally effect that "species".

I suppose to me, asking how diseases could develop/mutate/ distribute through such a product is like asking how antibiotics can create a super bacteria..... after all antibiotics kills bacteria, its not bacteria steroids.... but humans cannot think of every situation, which is why we have super bacteria when all people wanted to do is kill them.

    Edit: Spelling.
