That happens to a lot of my cuttings - it think its pretty common. It doesn't usually penetrate into the plant or cause any damage. Keep it dry just to be sure, and if you want to be extra cautious, rub some sulfur powder all over it. You should be able to get this from a nursery, although they don't always seem to have it.

Are you getting these up to get opinions on them? If so, I'm not crazy about the upside down "A". If not, sorry.
:D

Nice work! I did one of these on a nice big san pedro. It did nothing for about 2 and a half months, so I cut it off, only to find that it had fused with the stock very nicely! I should have been more patient! I've now regrafted it using a wedge-graft (I had to in order to preserve its only areole).

Wow, very nice! How old is it?

Nice work myco! I've done about 10 similar loph grafts over the last 3 months, and its always so nice when they start to show new growth! Only had one fail so far - rotted from the inside out.

Not actually sure about the species of this one. However, I think that "fire engine red" is part of its name - you could try googling that and the word cactus or something?

Stunning, aren't they? Not sure about the age - this plant was gifted to me by my partners grandparents about a year ago. It flowered last year too, despite me accidentally breaking the longer section in half. It was broken at a right-angle but was still attached, and I simply propped it up again. A day later, I came to remove the broken part but I couldn't find where it had broken! It had just healed up like a graft would, and then started flowering a few weeks later!

How did you get this? I tried to buy one a while ago, from Japan I think, but I couldn't import it because apparently M. Geometrisans is a prohibited weed...

Watch out for the millions of glochids though!
