  1. Loving it T. Many a fond memory are related to Shout Boxes :)

Edit: Posting it here (mentioned it in the shoutbox too though)

It'd be cool if you could switch the locations of the gallery object on the home page (have it a vertical scroll) and the chatbox. It's crazy-small and reading at 1-2 words per line is quite annoying :P

Another possibility may be to put it either just below or just above the gallery object that's on the front page.

  2. Ooo, torrents :) I like these.

As of right now I have:

    1x Music tracker

<Name here> is a music tracker with a HUGE selection. Anything and everything in all imaginable qualities. As a heads up, it's quite hard for people (especially Australians) without a seedbox to get ratio on here. I say this because invitees who get banned reflect badly on the inviter.

    6x Digitalhive.org

DH is a general tracker. It is ratio based but getting ratio on here is way easier than what.cd.

    * Demonoid.me

Another general tracker. Not really considered 'private' anymore but it's gone some stuff TBP and others don't :)

I may get some TC (movie tracker) invites soon too...

Let me know if you want any :)

  3. Re: the two three posts above mine

I've removed AustNet from my auto-connect (so if for what ever reason my client dies and restarts, I won't be idling) and furthermore if I do jump in to chat I'll disconnect afterward. It's a lot harder than I thought to prove I'm not recording the conversations.

As for my reasoning behind 24/7 idling, it's just how I use IRC. My client is weechat which runs on my server. I barely ever connect to the client with the intentions of talking in a certain chat room I connect and see what's going on. If something interesting is happening in #bitcoin on freenode, I'll chat there. One of the torrent IRC channels, I'll chat there.

Not looking to start anything, just my reasoning behind why I did it.

  4. hey all was just having a quick look at where i can get some dessicant

    and found this place

so i thought i'd post it here for anyone else looking for the stuff

australian website wich is always good

and they seem to have some decent prices

they've also got humidity indicator cards wich could be helpful

looks like theyve got a few things wich could be of help actually :)

    http://www.silicagel.com.au/

Those are rather cheap. I paid $27 (inc. postage) for 1kg of silica a few months ago on eBay. Though, technically, it was 500g + 500g bonus.

    Linky

If you're going to buy multiple similar things you're better off grabbing it from the one place, though :) The $4.95 flatrate is nice.

  5. Yeah well, have you seen the beach? That's to cry, well I've lived in the Carribean so .. :)

Back to our topic: which city would you guys recommend the most? Also, is it doable to live in the outskirts of a city without a car and go to your job? How is public transport? I don't think we'll be able to afford a car the first years. I don't have a car now and I try to avoid buying one, I see it as a waste of money

Public transport in Adelaide (South Australia) is surprisingly easy. There's almost always a bus, train or tram within walking distance from any of the surrounding suburbs (our city isn't that huge). To answer your question: Yes. Lots of people do it and it seems to work quite well.

I wouldn't go so far as to recommend Adelaide to you but I will say this; I quite enjoy it here, it's quite, the transport is easy, the general attitude of people is quite easy going compared to my few trips into Sydney.
