Why you pick the leaves off? The stems have highest alkaloid concentration. I put them on a flat plate or baking dish, smash them under a clear plastic lid, and put a heavy glass on top so as to seal it off from fresh air. Then let it stay like this in a warm place for 2-3 days. After that just let it air dry. Smells nasty, but soooo strong. The key is to smash it first and then limit exposure to air in a warm place for several days.

Thanks for the info on preparation, much appreciated.

I plucked those leaves off cuttings I was doing, didn't pick them to consume they're just a byproduct of the cuttings.
