What is the go with the year 2012? Seems to be a common consensis that this year has some signifigance. How and why, whats going to happen and do you really think its true? You should be able to do a good gig for around about max $50 bucks a head. Theoretically 20 pax should be the turnout. This is $1000. Cheapo finger food, alcohol and strippers is all you need. Anything more than that is un-australian and gay. Your mates rock up at 5pm to a house. Of course you gotta find a suitable house, pergola, shed, yard one of those. Tell your mates to BYO but of course out of that $1000 stock up say $200 on extra beers. Then $200 on food ie sausages BBQ, bread and potato chips. $200 on a skimpy bar babe to serve you and your mates for the hour preceeding the main show which is $400 on a fruit and veg show by a stripper. If you get a normal show, well thats what you can see any day at a stripclub, if you get a dominatrix then you will be shamed, potentially for a long time in front of your mates, but a fruit and veg show allows for penetration, you keep your dignity, everybody will remember and rave about it and its good honest fun. To use an old phrase 'i want to believe'. Since i was a child a vast amount of my reading time was based on mysteries of the unexplained. Every book in the library was taken out over and over, anything i could watch or listen too was done. Ouija was a pretty freaky experience, as a teenager it seemed the key to the supernatural was opened, only to have a friend admit 15 years later it was a hoax, instigated by him. None of the predictions came true. To further infuriate the believers, as i get older it seems that children, teenagers, young adults need to believe in something supernatural, we all deep down want to believe me have monkey magic powers, or as we go to sleep dream of flying, or having powers. You want to feel special. Then you get a little older and before you know it your imagination subsides just a little, no longer is it as fun to play chasey with your friends and life is overwhelmed with tasks, like working, bringing up kids, keeping the car running, rent inspections, visiting the parents, dinner parties etc etc etc and you start to realise that there is nothing really special about you, more than likely you will never make a change to the world, your bones are getting more brittle by the day, your breath stinks after coffee and that the dreamworld you once imagined in fact does not exist and that within the next 50 years your grandchildren will be laying flowers on your coffin. Only then will the truth be revealed.

Good point but this has all been disproven in very simple ways many times. Even for a layman like me its a simple open and shut case. people who see ghosts, devils etc while totally straight are mad, perhaps always been or suddenly chemically inbalanced in the brain somehow. There is no doubt meditation can produce dream like states, this has been known for thousands of years however is out of reach of the general populace as it takes time, patience and dedication, skills according to credit card dept as a general example, few people have. Clairvoyants- clever people with the gift of educated guessing. Ouija- Wishful thinking and positive use of subliminal pushing and pulling. Mary and Jesus- religious fanatics trying to push the cause. Voodoo- A mixture of herbs given as a tonic Witchcraft- Story telling Faith Healing- Positive thinking The only problem i have no matter how much i want to believe, is the fact whilst not even 1 percent of the population has been involved in 'mysteries of the unexplained' there is another 99% that have not and there is not a shred of hard evidence anywhere, not one thing that can prove beyond doubt, anything other than human imagination and scam is responsible.

Yeh i know, but unfortunately from my limited time on forums i have come to realise the reason why a lot of threads end up full of bullshit is because well meaning people like yourself just dont just let threads be threads, mate if i have got 3 hours spare to peruse the corroboree thread database and or look up key words with '2012' as the search word i would. I suppose the qustion now is if something happens in 2012, what will it be, either you are in two groups. the first is the ignorant or just plain never heard of this prediction shit before, the second is basically all ethneo's, book readers, mayans and astronomers. The first group will just have to wing it and run for their lives (if it happens), the second group (us) can prepare. But how can you prepare if you dont know what to prepare for, what do you save for food, petrol or arsenic. Could it be a lot more simple than we imagine, sun flares, asteroids, viruses are all a threat but what if it was simple enough as oil running out. im not saying thats it but can you imagine if oil just literally ran out, so much for planes, trains, boats, cars, condoms, tupperware, stackhats. world order would need to be restored, when will oil run out or do we have an endless supply?

This is a very simple thread. No doubt some of us have either grown up in the 60's 70's 80's 90's and at some stage we were sitting around with friends or at home alone and for a few minutes a song made us drift away and you remembered it forever. Hunab in no way was i referring that the article had anything to do with you or is about you i was however questioning triskele more over the timing of the new thread in relation to some of the latter posts in your 'cant put into words thread' where she directly related yourself to her ex boyfriend who had some 'issues'. Over the years i have seen a few people do and say some strange things. One of them 15 years ago took a trip and was as unreligious as anybody could possibly be, lots of other people has the same trip as well and now are as normal as they ever were, however that single one guy still to this day believes he is being chased by spirits, can talk to god, knows every passage from the bible, is waiting for his kids to leave home before he flies of to israel to fight in the holy war but for a third faction which really is the key to the temple. Note-this guy had a serious case of mental illness in his family, grandmother and brother, but he was not diagnosed before that point. Had another friend who took different substances and 100% thought that when John Gotti (mafia godfather) died in prison the TV was sending him messages that he was the next Godfather, he started to go around and do some very strange things and he completely changed, well to cut a long story short, he got locked up in a high security mental ward-note he had diagnosed mental illness before he indulged in substances. What about Moses himself, if the story is correct the burning bush which he so famously was friends with was actually an acacia which he made potions from and drank. From what i have read this would have seriously fucked him up, either in a good or a bad way but more than likely a lot of those miracles which he was part of, and the messages he recieved from god were probably just drug induced delusions. Hence possible the scenario thousands of years later a third of the world worships these visions and lessons, when in fact Moses might just have been a past year version of John Lilly. To sum up it seems that drugs and delusions stop at the door for 99% of people, but for the ones that have a history of mental illness of similar that door remains open and possibly will never shut.
