Repotted this SSP x Psycho0 seedling today: Bridgesii "Albany" looking like it will be putting out some nice growth this season.

Wow I'd love to grow some out as well. It would be amazing to have some open pollinated Aussie genetics growing here in CA.

The Spineless Trichocereus Scopulicola Project
Caudata replied to hostilis's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Anyone here have their Kohres scops sprouted and growing yet? -
The Spineless Trichocereus Scopulicola Project
Caudata replied to hostilis's topic in Cacti & Succulents
The kohres seeds are noticibly smaller than the SS and german scop seeds. Does seed size in trichs tell us anything about their genetics? -
I got them from Cephalocarpus on ebay. Is that who you are talking about? The BK14518.4 is an open pollinated pachanoi from Parque de las Leyendas in Lima. From their recent trip down there.

Naw, I think Ben usually notes when it's an open pollination. -

Yes, I believe scops may be self fertile. I got some seed from a guy in Germany who confirmed he had no other trichs blooming at the time -

I ordered 200 and plan on sowing them soon. Someone on the fb page reported really good germ rates on these a couple of weeks ago. SS is also offering scopulicola seeds right now, but theyre a lot more expensive. -

Thanks for the photos Getafix and Huachuma I separated my seedlings and theyve been growing vigorously.. theyre all shinier and a deeper color of green than other trich seedlings of similar age. -

These marks are beginning to appear on all of my outdoor cacti, although they are most pronounced on those that have yellowed from the sun. The marks are somewhat raised, like a blister. It's been very humid here recently.. at night humidity is around 98% with light drizzling. Do you think these marks are a result of the moist conditions giving rise to a fungal infection on the skin? I first thought it was just sun burn, but the marks are now appearing on my darker green cacti grown with some shade. Thanks for any help...

2 months ago i sowed some really old ss02 x "serra blue" seeds. After a week they hadnt germinated, and since i was moving a few hours away and had limited space i just left the pots uncovered. Last night i returned for the first time and found that, during those 2 months with absolutely no water (except nighttime fog) , and daily temps into the 80s, all of these badass cacti sprouted and grew: really gives me an appreciation for how tough trich seedlings are.. they grew in the shadow of this big boy:
