Xerophillia: The Stone Eaters- Fantastic article on soil for cacti
franky replied to teonanacatl's topic in Cacti & Succulents
How much of all of that is actually water soluble? That's is the only problem I have with rockdust and using it in potting mixtures. You are then relying on the very small colony of microbes able to live within the media to break that rock down. But silica is good, especially in hydroponics lol -

HELP TO INTERVENE AND SAVE ADAM FROM LOSING HIS DAUGHTER RUMER ROSE! :(
franky replied to LikeAshesWeFade's topic in News & Notices
I remember reading a lot of propaganda from Jan Copeland from the NCPIC, who was really pushing for Sativex to be the only legal form of cannabis in Australia. Things may have changed recently. -

I actually found a decent greenhouse ages ago at bunnings, at least the frame was a decent steel in the classic polytunnel shape. Got it for half price like $100, covered it with my own better plastic it will last for years after dyna bolting it into the cement

What did you do in your sacred garden today?
franky replied to theuserformallyknownasd00d's topic in Ethnobotany
Planted some seeds!!! -
I haven't seen this plant in person yet, but I will be going up come flowering time, hand pollinate those flowers :D yes it has been noticed that it is quite skinny, may be due to the hours of sunlight it is exposed too. This is cool because it was originally my fathers plant, who had it as a pot plant and gave it to a friend 10+ years ago and he put it in the ground. Would of been a random purchase too as my old man knows nothing about cacti lol
