If i was to buy it on VHS what would be the best way to convert it to a digital format at the highest audio and graphical (?) fidelity?

Can you DivX them for me----I really need to see as many relevant docos or films as I can.

Any suggestions or docos I could see/dub, would be good.

I am working on the script for FF and could do with some analyzing of other good docos.
