planthelper Posted January 9, 2004 looks like sceletium flowers are non selfe pollinating. i produced next to no seeds. maybe it needs hand pollinating, by a different strain...?! what ever the cause, all my seedpots just shrievelled up. any body out there, getting own seeds? waterdragon Posted January 10, 2004 i don't tend to get excited about the seed pods any more, just let them fall on the ground. i can propagate by cuttings much faster than seeds.
Ed Dunkel Posted January 12, 2004 The "ED" strain seems to be self fertile. I hand pollinated them and the fruits have swollen (and are still swollen). Just need to see if they stay and rippen. I checked one and it was filled with white immature seeds, hope they darken up and rippen!!! I'll put them on the warket as soon as they are ripe. Good luck Planthelper Cuttings are still good for bulk cropping.
planthelper Posted January 12, 2004 i had them :D aswell nice, fat and swelling (wart like clear droplets circumfrencing the top {pod leaves dried up} of the seedpod downwards), but i lost allmost all of them. maybe wildlife tried to pull them off. or drought. many, i did hurt whilst weeding.. not the seedpod rotted, but the stem 1,4cm underneath, the very same! ;( [ 12. planthelper Posted January 13, 2004 "our" and my hopes are on you darcy, because i know you got, the most genetic diversity, ref. to sceletium. i often saw ants, conrugating inside the pollen shedding flowers. i just try, to X pollinate by hand in the future. maybe we could swape some pollen in the future.
