Rune Posted December 9, 2003 What are ppls opinions on mescaline content of these cacti? Erowid experiences always seem to rate them very highly.
ramon Posted December 10, 2003 I think it is generally considered that the amount of genetic variability amongst Trichs makes it impossible to compare as one Peruvianus might have more alkaloids then a Pachanoi but a different Pachanoi will have more alkaloids the a different Peruvianus
visionaryb3ar Posted December 11, 2003 the comparitive difference in mescaline on average may be nil, but remember, pachanoi is soup of other alkaloids where peruvianus is a more pure source of mescaline(less total alkaloids) so other alkaloids may be acting as trip 'modifiers' in pachanoi to make it seem like perunianus is 'more potent'... just my thoughts
Rune Posted December 11, 2003 I think that's what my little gnome buddy was getting at - which one (on average) is the most potent, not necessarily which has more mescaline content.
ramon Posted December 11, 2003 What I am saying is that it is not really possible to say that one is more potent then the other because they vary so much
