firstaid Posted April 1, 2001 In grafting these two cactus's will the (chemical) content of the Loph. decrease? I see that the Trichocereus grows rather fast but if I do graft the Loph. onto it,I don't want to change the potency, if you get my drift!
Guest wira Posted April 1, 2001 What's P. trichocereus?? It's a fair assumption that a Lophophora grafted onto a Trichocereus stock would have a lesser alkaloid concentration compared to one left to grow at its own pace. The alkaloid biosynthesis would probably not keep up pace with the overall growth.
firstaid Posted April 2, 2001 Trichocereus Peruvianus! Yeah, I was thinking it would change a little. Thanks Wira, I wish I had your knowledge.
Guest wira Posted April 3, 2001 That's not knowledge, it's an educated guess
firstaid Posted April 5, 2001 I'll take it anyway's. If it's an educated guess then you probably have what I'm working to get.
Guest wira Posted April 5, 2001 If you mean a formal education, then I don't have one of those either, nor do I ever hope to get one
