Grafting P. trichocereus w/Loph.

Recommended Posts

In grafting these two cactus's will the (chemical) content of the Loph. decrease? I see that the Trichocereus grows rather fast but if I do graft the Loph. onto it,I don't want to change the potency, if you get my drift!

What's P. trichocereus??

It's a fair assumption that a Lophophora grafted onto a Trichocereus stock would have a lesser alkaloid concentration compared to one left to grow at its own pace. The alkaloid biosynthesis would probably not keep up pace with the overall growth.

Trichocereus Peruvianus! Yeah, I was thinking it would change a little. Thanks Wira, I wish I had your knowledge.

I'll take it anyway's. If it's an educated guess then you probably have what I'm working to get.

If you mean a formal education, then I don't have one of those either, nor do I ever hope to get one wink.gif
