Guest Ramon Posted July 31, 2000 Trichocereus pachanoi ( San Pedro ) grows much faster the Lophophora williamsii ( Peyote. San pedro will grow around a foot a year ( sorry for the imperical unit but most information comes out of America ) whereas peyote will take around five years to grow to golf ball size. Peyote is aprox. ten times stronger than San pedro but because San pedro grows so much faster it is the best bet.
M S Smith Posted August 4, 2000 Tr. pachanoi has weighed in at 0.331% to 2.0% from dry material. L. williamsii has weighed in at 0.1% to 6.3% from dry material. Unfortunately the 10X quote has gone from anecdotal to factual, but you will see that the true number roll over this. Basically at times Tr. pachanoi may be higher in mescaline concentrations than L. williamsii.
