spiraleyes Posted February 8, 2002 are there any trichocereus(ill call them by this name) that look identical to pachanoi, that people are aware of? maybe grow a little bigger. and are aparently inactive.
Guest wira Posted February 9, 2002 Well, if they were identical to pachanoi, they would be pachanoi I guess you mean similar? In that case, T. scopulicolus / scopulicola and T. cordobensis are often confused with T. pachanoi. I don't know of any that look like that which are inactive, unless it's just a really weak specimen, or unless confused with something that is not even a Trichocereus. spiraleyes Posted February 9, 2002 identical to the untrained eye how tall can pach. grow? how wide can it get at the base? what is the max number of ribs it can have?
Guest wira Posted February 10, 2002 They can get to 6m high or so, to about 10cm diameter, usually 6-9 ribs. However that's not to say there aren't taller, thicker, and more ribbed specimens in existence. From memory I recall pachanoi has been observed with up to 13 ribs, but this is an extreme variation; it's usually more like 6-7 [and sometimes they drop ribs or put on new ones].
