Can anyone ID these caramel coloured mushrooms

After my day of mushroom hunting yesterday ( http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36644&p=462540 ), this is the only one I'm really curious about. I can't find anything about this mushroom in my field guide and I found hundreds of them.

These ones seem quite similar but grew straight from moss, I don't think they are the same but I honestly don't really know

They were found in an area that looked like this:

First ones not sure - maybe Marasmius. Second ones almost certainly Galerina. third one Hygrocybe?

I think you are right - I'd say it's almost certainly Marasmius oreades - apparently interesting to cook with due to it's sweet taste.

I think its a little too orange or red to be Marasmius oreades which normally only appears in grassland in rings. SOrry.

Darn, back to square one then after looking at more photos of M. oreades, I now see that M. oreades has a more creamy/off white colour - not so caramel-like. Better keep them out of biscuits, soups and stews for now.

You guys have really interesting mushrooms down there!

I can't put my finger on any of them exactly, but I'd say that the first ones are either a Galerina or Naucoria species, and the second ones a Gymnopilus. Third ones look really nice, not sure what they are, probably related to Mycena.

We sure do If I'm entirely honest, I can only see two species in the photos I took.

One species in the first 8 photos (I imagine that one with the upturned gills is the same as the others) and the other species being in the final four photos (excluding location shot).

It's cool how those last 4 seem to glow with the sun behind them.

The ones in the first 2 pictures are different from the ones in the last 3. But they are related, maybe they were even in the same genus at some point.

Pic 2 reminds me of some scrappy little mushrooms that I came across recently (unlike these on a grassy suburban lawn). Of late, I have been keeping an eye out for anything that looks like a sub/cube and it's really shown me how much variety there is among the local mushrooms/toadstools. So far I haven't come across any of the magic ones, but I'm savoring the satisfaction just thinking about it

Same too GHBeer - I literally need to start paying more attention to the road when I drive, because my eyes are constantly scanning the roadsides looking for mushrooms. I think I'm becoming obsessed.
