Skulking Lurker Posted October 31, 2003 Pleiogynium timorense formerly known as P. solanderi can be a large and shapely tree to 20 metres or more in good comditions, or a stunted bonsai shrub under harsh conditions. It has a dark grey trunk and glossy, compound leaves. Tropical QLD and PNG. Related to the mango and cashews. Has anyone eaten these fruits? Any good? ramon Posted November 1, 2003 They are very tart. Only tried the once despite the fact that there used to be many freely available near where I used to live. I know someone who likes to make a jam out of them.
minotaur Posted November 7, 2003 Apparently you have to bury them in sand for a couple of days to ripen them properly before eating them.
