Guest reville Posted March 11, 2002 While in Port Macquarie i was told of a local plant used by the aboriginal community Apparently they smoke it for psychoactive effect It has yellow flowers and the flowers are said to be sticky I was told it was growing out the back of the courthouse where relatives of those inside would consume it while waiting I went to look but it had been weeded and mulched recently So i went to hastings Council and spoke to the Aboriginal liaison officer She said she had heard about it from elders and also it may have turned up in some archaeological digs. she promised to send me info She also said that her primary interest was in bark medicine and that she could also forward me that info I dlike to send some info back as well so if anyones got copies of some really good anthropological stuff please send it may way I wonder what it is? the closest things i found were sid a and senecio but neither fit the sticky description
