dreamscape Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) A friend found these the other day wondering if we could get an Id. Thanx all. Not sure about the first one but think the second might be Phallus impudicus. Can you eat any either of these? Edited May 26, 2011 by dreamscape
0 Distracted Posted May 27, 2011 (edited) Oooo nice finds! These are just educated guesses. 1 Trametes versicolor 2 Phallus indusiatus both found with a bit of memory and referencing A field guide to the fungi of australia, A.M. Young, 2005 (make-do bibliographies kick ass) Edited May 27, 2011 by Distracted
0 Tryp Posted June 4, 2011 The last two are SO DEFINITELY a stink-horn. they develop that pretty lattice thing early on and the top rots later. I'm pretty sure the stink-horn develops that rotten top as a way of attracting flies to transport the spores. I've always wanted to see one in the bush. im so jealous. 0 Lord Mayonnaise Posted June 5, 2011 1. Could be T. versicolor but looks a little odd growing from straight from the ground like that as they're usually found on logs. Could be a buried stump though. Did it have a stalk/stem? Did the pore side mark easily? It could be something else if so.
