Evil Genius Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Hi 7baz, sporeprints of edible mushrooms can be used to grow them on nutrient containing solutions in petry dishes. But this is only allowed for non-psilocybine containing mushrooms like oyster mushrooms and all that delicate stuff. Most psilocybe sporeprints are only legal for microscopy purposes and for nothing else. Otherwise you would break the law which would lead to sweet sweet gang rape in an unheated prison shower. Check out our mycology forum...there you´ll find all the info about growing edible mushrooms that you need to get started. bye Eg Edited January 1, 2011 by Evil Genius

It is commonly used to identify the type of mushrooms or to grow new mushrooms. Don't eat them. Look at them under a microscope, study them, trade them or if you're clever (and it's not illegal) grow them. Edited January 2, 2011 by MissBanshee
Hyphal Posted January 2, 2011 Think of the spores as really really tiny mushrooms seeds.
