ethereal samba Posted February 27, 2010 OK i found a new acacia that i need a lil help identifying.. my view it would probably be Acacia podalyriaefolia but it is your call.. thank you corro
~shameless~ Posted February 27, 2010 Yeah i reckon it is too , If it is in your own garden or one you look after you can prune them to shape after flowering , keeps them nice and bushy - if you DONT want seeds of course.
ethereal samba Posted February 27, 2010 thank you for any help.. any idea on how i could make a cutting and clone? or does it even work with acacias....
DarkSpark Posted March 5, 2010 The pics aren't overly clear but to me the phyllodes dont look wide enough to be a podalyriifolia. However we do live on different continents so maybe there is some variation. Are the leaves velvety feeling ??? also the seed pods should be velvetty too and if you got flowers seeds wont be far away. I have had good germ rates from see so consider that instead of cloning. Acacias can be temperamental to clone. However best of luck to you !!! apaert from the narrower less rounded phyllodes it looks dead like a pod in reguards to flowers etc.
