Chugga Posted March 24, 2008 Howdy all, Just a quick question on melocactus ernestii. I came by a seed pod today and wanted to know if there are any particular tricks with getting these guys to come up. The pod and seeds are quite similar to Loph pods and seeds(just bigger) so i was thinking of going the old tried and tested. Any feedback or past experience would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Chugga
Lachy Posted March 24, 2008 From what I understand, the baggie method works well with germinating most cacti. The real trouble with melos in my experience is keeping them alive after that. They definitely don't like the Melbourne climate, however you may have more luck further north.
