komodo Posted June 4, 2007 (edited) from the reviews of photovoltaics i've been looking into over the past couple of years, it seems the industry has been on a steady path away from mono- and poly-crystalline cells and into amorphous silicon (except maybe with black silicon or wafer technology, not yet on the market). i'm no expert but will be involved in setting up some systems, single house and cluster housing/community, over the next couple of years, and have become interested in this product: http://www.mhi.co.jp/power/e_a-si/index.html it's a 100W amorphous panel recently on the market in australia. one supplier (http://www.ecosouth.com.au/modules.htm) quoted me $790 for a single panel and discounts on multiple panels. seems competitive and a good product, thought i'd post it up for advice in case anyone here has a better handle on these things than i do. another seller of amorphous silicon in oz is "unisun".. website has lots of useful info and some systems pricing: http://www.unisun.com.au/index.html and also is kind of bizarre. any discussion/info about amorphous and crystalline silicon, or other photovoltaic technology, most welcome Edited June 4, 2007 by komodo
