Green Osiris Posted December 15, 2006 For some reason my PC doesn't want to play DVD's anymore. The drive appears to be fine (CD's play) and the present software gets me to it's menu (but not the DVD's menu). I've uninstalled/reinstalled, and still no joy. The few freeware DVD players I have tried downloading are full of nasty adware and miscellaneous invasive stuff, which I want to avoid. Can anyone point me somewhere to get a clean player? Μορφέας Posted December 15, 2006 i used isohunt.com and downloaded DivX with a keygen which plays movies, If you find a good player that looks expensive and is popular on download.com go to isohunt.com and there should be a torrent for it along with a keygen most of the time.. elzar Posted December 15, 2006 try the basic version of zoom player. it has a dvd function and works with TV out reallly well. Also Windows does not come with a dvd decoder. You need to install one. (normally Power DVD or Win DVD) Then most programs will be able to play the dvd. Another Really cool video player is VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Free and it plays heaps of things good luck dan

Try The K-Lite codec pack, has all the altest codecs and also media player classic, a great no-frills, no ad-ware player that should play pretty much any media file, including DVD's.
