Legba Posted April 30, 2006 "Knowing" is the booby prize. take a breath and "everything" will change. Understanding comes from experience. Simple, huh?
Salviador Posted May 1, 2006 AH HUH! so i dont know everything i need to and thus my want to know is valid yeah i agree with the knowledge vs understanding thingo... the simplest truths are often the hardest to accept, excuse the cliche Actually these two premises together adds to my first statement. It could still be true that i know everything i need to know, and the reason i want to know more is because i dont "understand" yet, ie through experience. AndyAmine. Posted May 1, 2006 (edited) What makes you think you know everything you 'need' to know? I wish I could be that sure.. Edited May 1, 2006 by AndyAmine.
foolsbreath Posted May 1, 2006 I once heard that the more you know the more you realize how little you know So really, you know nothing
Salviador Posted May 1, 2006 the question was more for pondering than anything else. However i believe that most everyone knows everything they need to know, ie how to maintain life. Animals know everything they need to know via instincts, much the same for humans perhaps?
Rev Posted May 1, 2006 this is only IME i knew little so learnt then i realised how naive i was to trust the direction of others so i learnt then i realised i had influence on others so i learnt then i realised that the joy of understanding is a joy unto itself the real lesson is understanding how to enjoy that
