I found my first wild uk sourced rei shi (i think) on some kinda north american oak ...
i took the nicest freshest young specimen from the bunch and it smelled great!
so I was wondering if Photinia
is an ok substrate for growing consumables upon because I'd love to grow my own rei shi tea :3
reason I'm asking is: I found a hole in my photinia tree and rammed the bracket of reishi in it just in case they like eachother...
I gather Photinia has been known to be toxic to the Equine but I can possibly take on my human form to try them out if successful :3...
Does anybody have experience oor further knowledge on Photinia as a substrate for medicinal/consumable fungi?
If not , would it home the fungus happily as a carrier until I get a correct wood such as Alder, oak, beech, poplar, douglas fir etc..?
thank you for your time and have a super weekend!
