Nice Hostilis! Let us know! ...waiting...

Yeap! Noticing it here in Auckland too. It's great

Hey mate! Sounds like you're doing everything well so far. Just keep them where they are, re-adjust them if need be, and watch out for mould/green algae. I would use a copper spray now and again when watering. Trich's are tough, they can handle the moisture, but it would be best to let them dry out for a few days periodically to toughen them up. There's no real need to over think it with Trichocereus. All the best!

Hahaha, now that's attention to cacti!

...SOOOO what happened?? :D Any luck with them germinating??...

Producing Seeds with Self-Sterile Cacti - How to do it
_Cursive replied to Evil Genius's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Hey dream walker. I'm wondering if it's only the hydrated lime that you need? NOTE: Building lime is hydrated lime and different from 'soft' garden lime. It might be worth a try.. -
Dusting powdered sulphur on to cacti is a great way to keep mites/bugs away.
-
I wish you luck! I ordered seeds from Koehres; Aricarpus and Aztekium and have had ZERO luck, twice now....

Damn! Those are brilliant!

Hey guys! I recently met a guy in Auckland who has a bit of a collection he is selling. He's in Auckland, his name's Quinton. Give him a ring on 021 849 293.

Hi guys! I'm kinda new on here I guess, a long time lurker. I saw the recent post on peoples opinions on the Koehres seeds and the opinion is the same as mine, pretty average at best. What other sites would you recommend for purchase? Thanks for your time, and I hope to share a few pictures soon and get to slowly know people Thanks in advance!! JT

Yeah, I'm not happy with most of the seed I've bought. I'm looking for new supplier. Thanks for all the input to this thread!

Billy the Kid: I'm in New Zealand, so it's almost, if not impossible to get in live cacti past our customs. You say lime stone is needed. I take it lime stone has an alkaline pH? So maybe garden lime would work too? I germinate all my cacti on top of a fine pumice layer with potting mix underneath. I haven't tossed them out, I'm still hoping they might germinate at some stage. Thanks for your input! Appreciated!! Hostilis: I'll try some seed from Ebay, do you have a particular guy/company you use? PM if you wouldn't mind please dude? -

In Summer, in a seed raising dome from Bunnings. It's not my germination technique, as ALL my fresh seeds germinate, but they're just 'run-of-the-mill-boring'. It's hard finding a place to purchase the genera I mentioned above, and to also be FRESH. Hmmm. Any links would be appreciated Peace... JT. -
Divine Cactus had awesomely fresh seed when I ordered 2 years ago. Now they ONLY sell Lophophora. Damn.

Hey mate! I see you post all the time. You're always friendly and helpful, appreciate it! I'm after seeds along the lines of Aztekiums Turninicarpus Ariocarpus etc. Any other genera like these really Do you know of any sites that have fresh seed? I have had ZERO luck with Aztekium, and not much luck with others either from Koehres. Cheers!! -
I've had absolutely bad/average results from them. Out of 100 Loph. Will. only 20 germinated. Aztekiums 100 seeds - Zero germinated. I've ordered many many different species from them and had no germination. What other sites can you guys recommend? Thanks!!
