    David Ike comes to Melb

Cool, I didn't know this was happening. Where and how much? Did you have to buy tix? I may get along to this.

    Mycelium

Yep ppl have def tried this - the cakes can be split with no worries, each part will go on to have a life of its own. As has been said already, it's a good way to spawn other media and also increase mycelial surface area ie: cut a cylinder shaped cake long ways down the middle and lay them flat parts down with the curved sides facing up to maximise the surface area facing the light above. Be sure you slice each cake with something sterile, like a fresh piece of fishing line rubbed with metho.

    Transplanting

Thanks for the advice, well noted. Seems like it's worth taking the risk. I will go to the effort of digging them out with rootballs entact and give them some TLC beforehand and afterward at the new place, which is a much better environment for them anyway. I forgot to mention my in-ground brug which I'd also like to bring with me to the new place - I'm guessing it should be OK to move it too as with the others. Cheers dudes, I will post a follow up after the move.

    Transplanting

Hey plant people, I'm lucky enough to be moving bush soon!, and wanted the concensus on whether transplanting is worth the risk or not. We're renting our current place out, so it's doubtful the plants will be looked after by the tenant and I'd rather take them with us if they're likely to survive the stress of moving. Only talking about a few plants here - 2 medium sized PC Trichs (both with 4 large pups each), an Eileen cutting with one pup and 2 struggling caapi plants. They've been in the ground for about 2 years. The rest of my plants are in pots, so no dramas with those. Thanks in advance

    Seed Tray help

Just wondering if you guys use straight tapwater for your germinations, or something purer?

    Original Music

Thanks very much for the compliments RockHammer! It's encouraging me to make some more. Cheers
  9. Hey Dudes I wrote this track a couple of years ago on a rainy Sunday arvo and did nothing further with it. Didn't even name it. I enjoy hearing the music that other SAB members come up with, so thought I might as well share my own too. I made this using third party plugins and standard fruity loop bits and pieces. The production values are pretty bad - I was simply focused on writing a tune as opposed to perfecting each and every sound in it. The sample is from the movie 'the running man'. I've since moved on to using Cubase and real hardware (Alesis x25 photon, Waldorf Q, Roland SH-32 and Roland MC-307) but haven't produced anything tangible with it all yet. Hopefully one day. Hope you enjoy http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YWK2KLTW

    Blue Balls

Very sorry to hear your story. Glad to hear your relatively ok. Good luck with the travel insurance, in my experience it is fucking useless. I'm thinking of getting a bike soon as my main means of commuting..... would you recommend against it now? Anyway, all the best dude.

    my 1st sensory deprivation tank

http://www.extradimension.com.au/ I've been here a couple of times and found it great. It's a combined tank/massage service run from a backyard in Melbourne's northern suburbs.

    first psytrance song

I'd like to hear it at 148..... would need a diff bassline though It doesn't have to be psytrance to be good. As soon as you start conforming to the rules of a genre you start breaking the creative flow and limiting the possiblities....

    Original Music

Thanks guys! Ballzac, hopefully I'll have something reasonable to post up later this year.... as for a collab, I'm gonna have to decline until I get a little better. As I think you've written elsewhere - I too get caught up in making nice sounds and loops and rarely produce something coherent enough to share. It is a joy twiddling knobs for your own amusement till the wee hours and loving it.... only to listen to it again the next day and wonder what the hell you were thinking. ;)

Nice job mate! You should be proud at the quality of your sounds. Very clean. It prompted me to check out the original as I hadn't heard of ytcracker before. Pretty cool, and your remix is fantastic.

    Aley Grey posters

Polyester Books in Brunswick Rd, Brunswick (Vic) have stocked various Alex Grey items in the past. Definitely worth a visit anyway as they have a great psychedelic section, and rare bits and pieces of everything. They have a couple of Terrence McKenna spoken word tour posters on the wall which I like to pay homage to when I go in. Alex Grey items in their catalog
