    natural sleep aids(strong)

Well I suppose this is natural, though some might disagree. If it was still legal, I'd say give GHB a go on an EMPTY stomach. But not enough to knock yourself out, enough to feel drowsy, I suppose on par with feeling drunk. This was great for getting a friend to sleep. However he found at knock out doses, sure you go to sleep fast(15-20 mins), but only for a few hours, then you wake up again, at which point you could take another knock out dose. But this seems unhealthy to me. The problem with taking a less than knock out dose is the acompanied euphoria, and empathy, which made my friend want to do lots of things other than sleep, but if you can train yourself to resist those urges and go to bed it's great for sleep. Too bad it's illegal.,

    Catha edulis tea

no ??? I read this on the TGA site, it's illegal in SA, but is it illegal in any other states? "The importation of khat by individuals is permitted for personal use only, of up to 5.0 kg in any month. State or Territory Health legislation may apply and you should check if there are any restrictions. Khat is considered to be a Schedule 9 substance in South Australia and possession is illegal."

    Dry Mouth - Stimulants

hi, I don't seem to be very good at using search engines, and you people are pretty brainy. Basically I want to know what is the mechanism of action that causes dry mouth when certain stimulants are used. I know constriction of blood vessels occur, does this reduce blood flow to the saliva glands, which severely impairs their ability to produce saliva?

    Bulk Kava

For anyone in Brisbane, there's a shop called Punam International at Coopers Plains that sells Waka Kava, from memory it's $30 for 1kg , but it's also sold in 200gram bags. I'd suggest you trial a 200gram bag first if interested, as I didn't think much of the quality. The guy asured me it was "the strong stuff" but I've tried the strong stuff many times, and this wasn't. [This message has been edited by blog (edited 07 July 2002).]

    bugs in shrooms

Will freezing kill the eggs or just put them in a state of suspension? My problem with mushrooms is the maggot eggs hatching AFTER I've picked the fresh healthy mushrooms. It occurs during the drying process, which takes most of a week. Seeing once firm stalks turn to slosh and start wiggling is pretty disgusting. Would be good to know once the drying starts I won't have any problems like that.

    DXM ..... getting phased out??

To scam good drugs, I think you've just got to find the right dr. A friend moved to a new town, put on a neck brace, went to the local dr, gave his painfull neck story, dr Examined him. Friend said XXXX drug was what he had been precribed before, and had worked wonders. Dr gave him a script, He now gets 20 tablets each fortnight, as he's on unemployment benefits they only cost him $3.60. These tablets are famous for their ability to be disolved in water and injected, and it only takes 1 to manifest pipe dreams and tranquility, while 3 is a perfect amount. Under some UN convention/treaty (whatever) they've been made illegal in most countries of the world, yet for some reason they're still available here, though illegal in Victoria(and probably Tasmania) But given all that this guy was still able to get them prescribed. I think it's just luck.

    DXM ..... getting phased out??

Neurofen plus has 12.8mg codeine , which is a really strange amount so that must be the new limit on OTC codeine.

    DXM ..... getting phased out??

Robo DX has is looked upon as a possible drug of abuse by many pharmacists it seems. It's rare that I see 200ml bottles, usually only the 100ml. While every other formale in he robo range is there in 200ml and 100ml. Oh yeah something else I noticed in the last few months, the amount of codeine in over the counter medications has gone up from 8 mg to 11 or 12mg. Why? The painkillers I normally buy(a generic form of panadeine) went from 8mg to 10mg but others have more codeine. [This message has been edited by blog (edited 03 June 2002).]

    Ordering Absinthe

The stuff you buy in bottle shops here has to contain 10mg/kg or less of thujone, so that's probably the same rule for importing. The EU has the same 10mg/kg law, and the countries you mentioned are all member states, so anything they sell should be legal here.

    Amyl Nitrate

I seem to remember you can make amyl nitrite(or it may have been one of it's alcohol cousins really easily). At the time the only problem I had was getting sodium nitrite, but I didnt' look hard for it, just tried the butchers, but apparently they use a ready prepared mix containing sodium nitrite/potassium nitrate and something else. I was hoping they bought the individual salts and mixed on premises.

    NO2 but not ch3ch2ch3?

Yes this is true, and I've seen it for myself. A friend sucked down a huge amount of nitrous bulbs, sometimes 3 packs a night (30 bulbs) and he sucked the pure nitrous, didn't mix with air because of that added high. Well today he's retarded. Has a memory like a goldfish, is incapable of learning anything new, has trouble with spacial abilities, balance and walking, and Is not able to comprehend even slightly complex conversation. He has isolated himself from the world (including me) and is now on a disability support pension. He was under the misguided belief that if your brain is not getting enough oxygen then you will fall unconscious before any brain damage occurs. As this had never occured then he can't be doing any damage(he though). But it's the CO2 that tells the brain it's not getting the oxygen content it needs and will send a person into unconsciousness if required. His mindset was that if it's used in medical proceedures how can it be dangerous, but ofcourse it's a regulated percentage of oxygen and nitrous, not nitrous alone. So anyway, this guy has fucked his life over something seemingly safe. If people do bulbs or medical grade nitrous make sure you suck in mabe 80% air and 20% nitrous or you too could end up a sad retarded fuck.

    Khat

Sorry about the misinformation. I"m very sensitive to the usual stimulants so I'd think my individual plant has problems perhaps it get's too much water for high alkaloid content. It's in the vege garden so get's watered every 2-3 days.

    Khat

I don't think the ones from SAB are active. Mine is a few years old now, and looks very healthy. Get's a shinny glistening surface on the leaves of the morning. But doesn' have the characteristic cathinone odour, and no amount of chewing produces any result. I think someone on this list is selling the narrow leaf khat, which is said to be active.
  15. It's on the poisons schedule, S9 with every other illegal drug. It doesnt mean it's a poison, Pharmacy and prescription medication is also a scheduled poison, S2,S3,S4,S8. Poisons are S5,S6 and S7 [This message has been edited by blog (edited 13 March 2002).]

    NO2 but not ch3ch2ch3?

NO2 is nitric oxide, you'd be coughing up blood if you did manage such an effort as breathing the concentrated gas. But ofcourse you meant N2O. I'd be interested to hear why butane is considered such a health hazzard. If you breathe in either pure nitrous or butane you'll kill just as many brain cells due to inoxia. Is butane a carcinogen like benzene?

    Passiflora Q.

I planted a few passiflora seeds 7 weeks ago after being sent them by some kind person on this board(thanks!, sorry I've forgotten your name) and find it remarkable that even though it's only very immature, and small, about 40cm in height, only one creeper, it has already flowered and now has 5 passionfruit growing on it, with more flowers yet to bloom and fruit. Is this normal for this species, and if not what circumstances could initiate flowering and fruiting at such a young age. I don't believe I've done anything out of the ordinary.

    Passiflora Q.

I use the leaves in a tea for relaxation at night and to help induce sleep. Seems to be effective though there's always the possibiliy it's actions are placebo based. I think it's the flavanoids that are supposed to be active. 'Chemical constituents of the plant: indole alkaloids (harman, harmin, harmalin, harmol, and harmalol) maltol and flavonoids (orientin, isoorientin, vitexin and isovitexin)... supported in their actions by a variety of other constituents, including amino acids, sugars, coumarins, and sterols.'

yeah, that's sort of a crucial element I left out. P. Incarnata I"m growing it for the leaves rather than the fruit but will taste test them anyway.

    A nitrous oxide question

Probably because nitrox is often used in dive tanks instead of air. nitrox & nitrous sound similar, but ofcourse have quite different uses and characteristics.
