    Cacti ID help please

Hey there, I have recently had the same difficulties with pics, but theres a gallery on this site (SAB gallery) and Ive been uploading any pics I want in messages onto that... Though I have no idea as to "upload etiquette" (you know, limits on size/numbers or relevance etc.) hope this helps....

    Pleiospilos question...

hi all, Ive got this awsome Pleiospilos nelii about the size of a tennis ball that I bought for $5 about 3 months ago from a nursery (bargain! :D ) that kept all their cacti indoors. As its been getting warmer, ive been gradually adjusting it to more light, but its started to get this faint pink/orange tinge about it, it still looks plump and healthy, but when I bought it it was really green. Is this normal? Or should I move it to a shadier spot?

    peruvianus ID-help scenario

hi all! I was wondering if anyone could ID this puppy for me. it looks like photos Ive seen on the Erowid site of T.peruvianus, but Ive seen so many photo's of supposed "peruvianoides" that don't look anything like these ones..... The main thing that makes me think it is, is the incredibly bitter, tongue curling taste that it has (I nibbled a bit when I took the cuttings) They look really blue in the sun. Heres a close up of the little baby one. There's some mean looking fresh spines starting to poke thru with the new growth... Anyhelp would be much appreciated Cheers! -

    Pleiospilos question...

Ive read somewhere, and I was vague, it was vague, :D (might have even been a post on here...?) anyway it said that they (Pleiospilos) prefer water during winter and early spring, getting less during summer. The post said something about them drawing on reserves from the previous years leaves during the summer months?... or something....? I wrote this more to see if anyone here remembers writing this and if they could shed some light on the creature as I too know little (and/or nothing) about this species... CHeers.

    grafting with opuntia

HI all, Im new here, so if I repeat something thats already been covered.... just don't shoot me As for grafting more than one scion per pad, I actually just tried it a few days ago with some lophophora seedlings. Started with two Opuntia sp. pads, one in active growth, the other at least a year old and stuck two seedlings on each one. Its been 4 days and Ive kept them in a mini greenhouse type thing with a heat mat underneath. They're all alive and green except for one that kinda.... liquified... that one was on the older Opuntia pad.... Ive never grafted seedlings before so I have no idea if they'll work... but the fact that one died and the other 3 are still green and juicy makes me think they were successful... I imagine that (if) once they get to any decent size they might push each other off... it's also possible that the rootstock may "favour" one scion over the other as a terminal shoot (apical dominance) and one might grow slower or maybe not at all. However this is all just speculation.... anyway, if they work I'll post a photo or something...
