-
thanks and thanks.

what wattage cfl bulbs should i get for a small cacti seedling set up on a 30cm x 30cm heatpad?
would 30w be sufficient?
soft white or warm white?
-
yar good luck dude, im sure there will be enough for everybody lucky enough to attend. still kicking myself for not buying a one of his "super spiny" trichos when i was up there, thought i had enough cacti to take home via plane already ;D
-
i tend to smoke one (usually a minimum 5cm long and 3cm wide) leaf which fits in my cone piece nicely. thats plenty enough for me, effects can be felt from less.
-
the monstrose looks like a cereus.
good finds
-
i have a few sacks full of prickly pear that i need to get rid of. good for grafting onto.
there are two types which i havent id'd yet, one with big spikes and one with no spikes.
free, nz only.
-
Yes, can be smoked, similar to Tobacco (contains lobeline and related alkaloids), has a bit of an extra stone going on than tobacco, like tobacco with cannabis leaf added. 1 joint max, too much causes vomiting and other unpleasant side effects.
Similar chemically to (Lobelia tupa) Indian tobacco which has more of a history of usage as a stop smoking tobacco aid, however treat this one as a little stronger / more toxic.
I believe the sap has been bled and utilized as a hallucinogen by certain Indian tribes, but one would assume this is somewhat dangerous / toxic.
thanks very much for all that info, im glad i didnt over do it with a big hooter.
do you want some foliage or plants for free dude?

I've read that when grafting an areole of a crested cactus that the scion will grow non crested.
with a variegated areole graft does the same apply?
-
really nice pale whitish trich in the first post, loving the crests too.
drooling over T. huasca crest..
-
so sad.
quite a nice specimen
could one possibly graft the broken head back on to the base? maybe thats a stupid question, im new to grafting.
-
i have quite a bit of leaf harvested of Lobelia tupa (devils tobacco) but no not what to do with it all.
couldnt find any firsthand reports from google, anyone here have experience smoking this?
-

i didn't realize they stocked loph seed. wow, i guess you answered my question then. duh
thanks
edit: sab dont export loph seed : ( still, lots of trichocereus

that sucks, i was lucky enough to visit coromandel cacti last time i was in auckland, they had reasonable prices and a humongous amount of well looked after plants.
too bad im at the other end of the country or i would be in there like a vulture ;)

been looking around at quite a few sites recently and i am considering where to order trichocereus seed from.
-
looks like my (pseudo)candicans too.

Hey, i have ortegocactus, various astrophytums and some bridg seed im trying to germinate at the moment.
they are on a heat pad which worked well with pedro seeds in partial light.
i wanted to know if my fluro light (off fish tank) is too strong / weak for them to germinate? It has PL- 11w/8000k white written on it.
thanks very much.

i have to agree with incognito, its just retarded.
funny, i was watching something the other night on some brit that got a life sentence at 19 for trying to smuggle eckys home. lucky bugger got his sentence reduced to 25 years
anyone remember that guy who got 4 years in dubai for 0.0003 grams of bud?
0.0003.. too small to be seen by the human eye it says in the article. freaky shit, will have to remember to turn out my pockets when i travel.

hey im having trouble with a couple tips which i've had to recut a couple times due to that horrible orange rot.
just wanted to know what methods others have used to help the ends dry better.
i read something about rubbing alcohol on some pdf from google.
cheers

happy burfday dude.
sadly i couldnt find a suitable emoticon.
-
the last picture is also myrtillocactus geometrizans, i hear the spines develop with age.
in case you were wondering, they aren't active. but they make fantastic grafting stocks, and produce little blue berries.

i get mad shakes and chattery teeth on subs.
and a couple of times i've fainted/almost fainted, things start to sound further and further away and my vision gets whiter and whiter.
then i will come to on the ground.

thanks for the replies.
that floppy fencing looks interesting, i would use less material than if i were to make a cage which was my initial plan.
i will have to give it a shot
