mmm, super growth with the CFL its under compared to the "sunshine" here though.
I was thinking it would grow out of it/adjust?
-
aw yeah!

yar i was going to put a warning mentioning how invasive it is in some areas, same for the n. glauca.
considered this, the only plant i am going to let grow to flower and seed will be in the greenhouse.. not sure on how they disperse seeds and how easy it is to catch with a bag or the like so this might not be the best option
i noticed that when trying to germ seeds they grew much better in waste soil than in potting mixes, usually a sign of a colonizer/invasive plant

getafix grew this from seed and had to part with it when he moved to australia. I cant remember where the seeds were from but it definitely bears a striking resemblance to the Blenheim clone
-
not my plant, local though. got cuttings on the go.
couldnt find much info on macropiper propagation
gonna try and loop some of the lower branches under the soil and see if they strike.
-
seed grown by Getafix, can't remember any more than that.
-
nah, a garden here has a few big bushes of both species though.
will have to send some up your way

Is that a glass mold mate? very nice.
Good to see you on here btw

.how does it go over here you know?
A few members have mentioned it growing in different parts of Aus. I imagine someone would have it if you asked in the exchange.
I have heard it's the most cold tolerant brug. In other places near me where it would be considered Zone 8, they lose all their foliage over winter and the growing tips can shrivel/rot. Here it doesn't seem to mind it so much but it doesn't frost very bad here and is Zone 9.
There is a massive 10m x 4m bush of it up the road.. Some kids I grew up with tried sucking on the flower bases to get that sweet taste you can get with other plants....

How old do think this seedling would be?
Sowed on November 2010 so a year and a bit.. These were the first seedlings I grew tho and were neglected a wee bit

Where's that from?
The gum gets sold at a few Asian grocery places at the moment.
The Bic I've only come across twice, being sold at checkouts at the New World/Countdown. Amongst all the ones with bikini babes and porches on em..
Lol 2Deep I will send one off to you when we trade next.

Nice, have you had any success with leaf grafts?
