Ah, misunderstanding, my mistake. I think all this boils down to is that some people disagree with the way other people are trying to bring about change, whether the money issue comes into it or not. Regardless, all this extra [media] attention can't be good for us.

    Naga jolokia problems

Regular misting also helps fruit set. I find some of the species like thais, birdseye etc love full sun and heat, but habs etc seem to prefer a little more humidity and part shade. Maybe a little bit of shade or rel humidity might help this species too.

    Goji plant

Tantra - Lycium is in solanaceae, so maybe tropaney? Sina- Goji goes to vine so I'm thinking of whacking it in the ground soon and letting her climb all over the place. Just gotta find a good spot. I made a jam from dried fruit which was alright, but I'm thinking fresh fruit would work much better :D

Uh... I'm sorry that you think so. It's interesting that you think that I don't have that right, but you have the right to choose either way. If this were a battle in a country like, say, peru (minus all the corruption and the laws were the same as here), I don't think you'd see the law running into the jungle to arrest shamans. Maybe, just the ones running around the city, throwing bottles of aya around the place would be. And do the ones in the jungle have less of a right to do what they are doing? Why so? They help people too. They are simply quiet about it all. Not strictly speaking, but very similar idea to wu wei. I think my input is not constructive so I'll stop. But just one last note on rights and freedom. Should smokers have the right to smoke where ever they want? If so, should non-smokers have the right to not breathe the smoke where ever they are? Is there a balance ie smoking can be undertaken in a private or designated place, thereby allowing all to have a comprimisation? It's always a two way thing. If I don't have the right to be covert and help people in a way I see fit, how did you end up with the right to do the opposite? .

Nor do I! May I ask you though which of the following seems more like a forsaking: Being subtle about ones approach and taking ones time to change things knowing that it may be slow but will allow more people to experience it in a constructive way before it is taken away from us OR Spreading it far and wide to anyone who will hear (not necessarily listen) without due regard for the long term consequences that such exposure will have and essentially ensuring that it IS taken away from us as soon as possible, being just a fleeting memory of good times to many. Have you ever met someone, maybe at school, that just no matter how much a teacher tried, they just wouldn't 'get it?' Ever had the thought that the majority of people you have met are like this in one way or another? I agree that this is a very powerful and wonderful teacher that needs to be respected, but I think that there are a lot of people that just aren't ready. If there were a way to ensure that everyone had someone around them to guide them, to make sure the experience wasn't just fleeting and superficial, but changing. Alas, short of some sort of pocket sized shaman guide for each customer, one can't be sure that this is the case. And the problem is now that a few people have taken away everybody elses right to undertake their shamanic path in some sort of covert manner. Doesn't really matter anymore, Que será. Are you saying that because you have god on your side you will win, or merely comparing the way you believe to that of a christian? I'm sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously, a minority needs to be a mighty big slice of the whole to not just win, but stay won.

Fighting for a cause is a noble thing, but knowing when you stand a chance and in which way one must fight for it is also a good skill to have. All I've seen over the years is those that are already on the path being furthered along that path by the ease of availability, and those that are not, simply having yet another consumable product in their simplistic lives. Very few, that I have seen anyways, have crossed over from one to the other without personal input or external guidance. There is definately some merit to the thought that half of the spiritual furtherment is from the journey to the experience, not just the experience. Jeez, what a great fucking deal of benefit mankind had from $2 a hit 'enlightenment' in the 60s/70s. It might be worth considering that the product alone probably won't 'cure' people, that some effort on their part is required in the first place. I'm not making any personal attacks at all, I don't know enough in the first place, but I'm just saying it how I've seen it over the years.

    Super Strains

Oh my god, don't get me started on those asshole earwigs!!! Try putting a few small containers around the place burried so the rim is at the soil line, and filling them with oil. Olive oil seems to work the best, and maybe adding a lil bit of fish emulsion, they love anything fishy. They go swimming at night time, and in the morning you have a layer of dead earwigs in the bottom.

    Phalaris?

I may as well be the first then ... sorry about the largeish size of the first one and the slight fuzziness. Is this a phalaris spp.? I've looked on the net and they seem mighty similar. It's growing in a place that gets alot of water, and where this water pools is where this grass is the highest. It's a little bit bigger than waist height at the moment.

    Kava Scedule date

1st of September is the date that I am aware of as well. Not sure of the actual document where the person I was talking to has taken this date from, but it was an official gov. document at least. We all gots a bit longer. S4 means you need to have a script to possess the material, right? What about any remaining kava from a purchase before the cut off date?

    Melissa officinalis

This is really a great herb. I can definately vouch for the antiviral effects of this plant. I had glandular fever a while back, and after drinking a few very strong cups of this tea with some brown sugar over two days, i felt a lot better. Not just feeling good from the tea itself, but actually felt healthier, and soon after recovered. Many people I've told to drink the tea when they have coldsores and to rub the juice on their lips have told me that it works well. It reduces the length of the infection and the time inbetween as well. As for smoking it, I've tried it once by mixing fresh off the plant leaves chopped and mixed with another dried herb and another time with completely dried leaves. The fresh leaves gave a much better effect on me and 3 others. We all experienced a great sharpening of our vision, everything looked crisp, and nice relaxation. The second time with dried herb had much less effect, with mild relaxation noted.

    popping corn w/cell phones

Cardo systems make bluetooth devices which operate in the 2.4GHz frequency range. Guess what range microwave ovens operate in? And the maximum permitted power for a bluetooth device is only 100mW. Wouldn't be hard for the company to make a few little modifications. The power of the EM radiation would dissipate exponentially away from the source (unless its focussed somehow), so it's possible that it could be safe. Surely the acting was a big enough give away though

What was the food of the gods?

I've got absolutely no basis for this but... have you ever tried amaranth flour or grain? It has a wonderful nutty flavour. The fermented drink 'chicha' was made from amaranth. Wonder if that would alter the flavour to make it more palatable?

What was the food of the gods?

used to be a sucker for slabs of milk chocolate(good quality tho) Apparently milk destroys the chemicals in chocolate which affect anandamides, so dark chocolate should give a better effect. If you like dark chocolate, you should try "Green and blacks" organic dark chocolate. Has to be one of the best chocolates I've tried, and you can find it in a lot of petrol stations. Be prepared to pay a little more for it though :s T, you mentioned that the corn needs to be young. What about finding an heirloom variety, could have some significance?

Could you maybe introduce some frogs into the ecosystem? Anywhere you can put some tadpoles, just to help things along a bit?

Haven't ever tried them, but beta-blockers might help.

    beetles :s

Hey peoples... was just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what these beetles are and if they are eating my plants. I've watched them at nightime on my plants, but unlike the bloody mofo earwigs, I can't tell if they are actually eating my plants or other bugs. They range in size from quite small up to about ~1.5cm being the bigest I've seen. They're beigey coloured. Here's a photo I've taken, sorry about the quality but its hard when they're so small and constantly on the move. They are a little lighter brown in real life. Thanks.

    beetles :s

Damn them... So any ideas for a means of control, preferably an organic control? Between them and the earwigs, I'll have nothing left lol. Seriously... the earwigs eat so much but... the best method I've found for controlling them is a plastic pot saucer burried so its flush with the soil surface, and then fill it with oil. They drown themselves in it. I use olive oil because I've got HEAPS of the stuff, but I think other oils will work. Member reading they are attracted to fishy smelling things so maybe some kind of fish containing oil. Just my 2c on that problem if anyone else has it lol

    Importing Kava to Oz

I can verify this unfortunately. Licenses are still valid, but no more permits will be issued as of 25th of June and no more imports will be allowed on existing permits as of 26th June, except for verified medical or scientific purposes. This is because kava apparently poses a risk to indigenous people, however the government was the one who introduced kava to the top end 20 odd years ago. Strangely, or should I say fittingly, enough the government decides to restrict the entire country's rights, rather than make the existing laws in NT and WA stricter, but that doesn't surprise me. And to top it off, the goverment 'respects the cultural use of kava by pacific islanders in this country' by still allowing the 2kg of kava with an airline passenger. So does that mean that an islander here has to pay $300 to fly to their home country to buy 2kg worth of kava, which would last them 1, maybe 2 weeks? Bullshit, really is. Wonder if FNQ is a suitable place for kava plants to be grown? www.ocs.gov.au

What the fuck is wrong with my viridis?

Maybe insulate the bottom of the pot from the ground, it can help quite a bit. Also, the pot it's in seems to be ceramic, which would get nice and warm during the day, but would get bloody freezing at night time too. If you get frost where you are, you definately need something to shield your plant. I've got 4 viridis that i recieved in April sometime. They are in a non temp controlled hothouse and have survived a few night time temps of about 0 degrees. Enough to put a layer of ice on my windshield. They look a little scraggaly and the new top leaves have curled at the tips a bit, but they are still alive. So it seems fairly inportant to just shield them from the moist cold air ie frost. Carth do definately grow much easier in cold weather tho, mine is still booming in the hothouse. No browning at all.

    Introducing "M&D" clone

It gets full morning sun until about 11, then 1/2 strength sun till about 3, then full sun again until sunset. I think I've used soluble organic ferts once, other than that just organic slow release, like blood and bone etc. Only small so far but hopefully it'll put on a fair bit of growth once its planted out. Sorry about the slight out-of-focusness, the pics were taken at like 12pm at night

    Physicists bid farewell to reality?

I just think its funny that the man who changed physics in such a major way struggled to come up with a better name for a phenomenon than "Spooky action at a distance," which is what he actually called it btw. The problem with quantum physics is that we can't actually physically observe anything, because once we do we change the outcome. So, as the article mentioned, we have to make predictions using probablilty about things as simple as where the particle is LOL For a science that is so heavy in maths, I find the idea of not being able to observe or know where a particle is with 100% certainty ironic.

Here's my 10 minutes worth of trying I tried to make him look older with wrinkles under the eyes, but it just made him look kinda weird, will keep changing though lol. Could soften the edges and all that.
