  1. I am looking for something to smoke that tastes like tobacco but doesn't have nicotine. I'm looking for something to cut my ciggerettes with... I know all about wild dagga, lotus, etc. but I am looking for something that tastes and smokes a bit like tobacco (also looking for something that doesn't have nasty chemicals in it that I can smoke daily and not worry about). Any ideas?

  2. I am planning on traveling in Central and South America next year with a foucs on Colombia, Ecuador and North Peru. I was wondering... what is the most north location they traditionally chew coca? What about ayahuasca? Any ideas? Any must-see sights in this are (excluding Peru, I know what I need to see there) or ethnobotanical mysteries to investigate?

There is a snake that is caught up in northern QLD and used as a substitute for alcohol by some aboriginals. They catch a heap of them, put them in a bucket or bin, and then proceed to get bitten. Each snake has 2 good bites and then it is let go. Guys can sit around for a few hours getting bitten. THe effects are said to be much like alcohol without the sickness. I\'m not going to put the name as i don\'t want to write the wrong thing and have someone die.

I must know what this snake's name is!

  5. I am currently in the Peruvian Andes and am looking for other names for "Huachuma" or "San Pedro", both of which seem to be Spanish or have Spanish influence.

I have heard "Huachuma" means dizzy but I have also heard this is incorrect. A Quechua friend told me "chuma" means "not sweet". "San Pedro", of course, means "St.Peter", who is said to hold the keys to heaven.
