    THEYRE KILLING OUR TREES!~!!!!

Speaking of gunns... went to bunnings yesterday to grab some hard wood for a shade cloth hanging project I have going atm... and low and behold, the only stuff available was Tasmanian ash, with a nice Gunns sticker on it. This is a busy section of Bunnings, and i was surrounded by people who were probably unaware that they were just about to decorate their houses with our old growth forests... I on the other hand went for the plastic option... but FFS! I almost

    Drug Deals Gone Bad

lol.. and to me too ... Lisbon, Portugal, few years ago, guy walks past me and a friend and flashed this nice green bag of what looked like nice bud. As we had been travelling for months and hadnt had a smoke in ages, we jumped at the offer, and bought two probably 3grm bags (euros50 each). Awesome, so returned to our hotel room, and opened them up... gee doesnt smell very strong... hmmm looks like weed, but feels and smells like wax... fuck!!! It was wax... ripped!!! A similar, but stupider (from my part) story happened to me while in Spain when a rice gypsy fella ran off with 100euros of my cash which was ment to allow for some colombian style marching.... the stupid things you do when on tour hey!

    bioluminescence ?

Don't have any pics, but woud love to try to capture something on film! The only glowing fungi I have seen first hand has been the leaf litter lighting up like a very faint white light. This may have also been including tiny fruiting bodies. And yeah nature is great! What I love is putting flowers under UV light... seeing the world through the eyes of an insect is amazing!

    bioluminescence ?

Yeah, the glowing... its really interesting in fungi, because often it is only the mycelium that glow (i.e. in north queensland rainforest), not the fruiting bodies, hence, what is the purpose? Obviously not for night time spore dispersal (like if it was actually on the fruiting body)... so yeah, maybe just some kind of metabolic by product... don't kow that science has come to consensus on this. Alternatively, it may have once served a purpose on their original terrestrial body

    Brown rice flour

Yep, brown rice flour will produce more prolific and potent goods compare to white flour. Also, grinding your own flour (i.e. from actual whole brown rice), my gnome found that even more potent goods could be, when compared to already bagged brown rice flour (i think due to extra freshness).

    Sporeworks Strains.

Yeah, theoretically most of the sporeworks cubby strains are good, but I have an feeling the ones they mention as prolific fruiters (i.e. Amazonian) may be a newbies best bet. Of course, it is illegal, quite like researching these things in most work places... lol

    Croc hunter dead???

No! imo he died on the job spreading his message of how great nature is. I agree that a lot of what is written above is mean hearted and wrong! This was a man who loved the environment, and strongly believed in protecting it. I can't believe that people can be cynical of that. I think that it is digusting to read these things on what I thought was a nature loving web site. What the world needs is "in your face" environmentalism, because the "average joe" will not pay attention to anything unless it is so. Steve Irwin didn't give a shit about money, he only gave a shit about animals and their habitat. He called himself the crocodile hunter because that is what he did, but ffs, he began saving crocs from farmers who would have otherwise shot them! You cynics are dis'ing one of the only people with serious fame that shared probably similar views to yours on conservation. He needed to be so "out there" because it was the only way he new he could get his message across. That Denton interview summed it up for me, and brought me to tears at times, because he showed how down to earth and in love with nature he really was. He saw the worlds fear and suppression of nature is a horrible thing, and actually worked to do something to change it. Imo he was an environmentalist and conservationalist in the purest form, but unfortunately for some of you, that became hidden behind the fact that he became very famous. He only provoked animals for the camera only so that other people could see them as the same beautiful and amazing creatures he did. I dont claim that he was a genious, but we did lose a great figure and personality yesterday.

20 Amazing Facts About Voting in the USA

    Calibrating ebay 0.001 scales

Yeah, ya gotta calibrate em, but there will always be an error with any type of scales. A $1000, 0.001g laboratory balance will have an error of around +or-0.005 to 0.001g. I have a very similar set of ebay scales to those pictured, and I dont expect anything close to this kind of accuracy from them. The thing to aim for is repeatability And always use a flat surface. A reliable set of scientific scales will set you back at least AU$1000. imo that error of 0.02g is not all that bad!!
