cheers for that i will have a bit of a look into it there sounds like some interesting flavors there i may have to get a few to test. I would say it has something to do with how the Ubuntu version of firefox is processing the CSS style sheet, try downloading another browser and see if it helps at all. I have had this issue when running on slow Internet too which times out before fully loaded likely that one of the stylesheetoptions such a vertical height isn't compatible with your browser or isnt loading right. Sorry if this sounds confusing trying to type on the iPad without being able to google some stuff I should have lol. But I would definitely try another browser or update Firefox if there is an update available. Also boot the reset cache menu and check all the boxes except passwords so you don't lose your passwords, this may reset something thattheauto cache reset doesnte.

Was the larger one seed grown or a cutting. I am not 100% sure and I haven't opened it yet but if there is no caramelisation in the fresh growth Ior no red stems I would say maybe narrow leaf as the leaves aren't anywhere near as rounded as my green

you could try a deeper pot and plant the cacti deeper ? this way it keeps its rootstock and has the added stability of being deeper in the ground. This combined with maybe a stake or two would mean that the plant could happily continue growing. I think it looks cool the way it is narrow at the base getting fatter at the top. A cool looking specimine, would suck to ruin it

White froth ? see if it brushes off. mine had mealy bugs not long ago, they are like little furry oval shaped bugs that crowd around the nodes. yup bastards, the leaves getting spots of the wrong color are spidermite damage, it is a very obvious type of attack as you get little spots where the color is "sucked" from the plant by the bugs, although in my experience they are red so should be little red bugs. Gnats atack the roots, well their larvae do so the damage yo uare seeing isn't gnats. gnats will kill the root system of the plant whereas mites will suck the life from the leaves. i spray my leaves with water then rub them all pretty vigorously and this smushes all the bugs and kills them *insert evil laugh here* i often add neem to my spray bottle to help out a bit too. what 2 deep was saying is taht just spraying them with water and keeping the leaves moist is enough to get rid of spider mites. They drown, bastards hate water. and with HBWR there is so such thing as too much water !

sorry to go a tad off topic here but are hylocereus actually good grafting stock ? i have an abundance of them here but never thought they would be any good, kinda always assumed they were more succulenty and wouldnt work :S not that i am any good with cacti whatsoever

yeah i am referring to being able to buy the seeds for "culinary" use. I just don't get the laws, poppy seeds which can be used to grow plants AND have opium residue on them are all good. Yet hemp seed which cannot be used to grow drugs (well not that you could get stoned off anyways) is illegal. Can anyone clearly define what makes a seed illegal at the moment ? aside from those that are defined clearly, such as cannabis. and ballzac too true. The system is fucked, but we just have to deal with it

If poppiues are legal based on being a foodsource could you not just say you intended to powder the seeds to make bread or something ??? Also cannabis seeds are specifically banned yet they are a VERY viable food source. I just dont get our laws its like they just pick out random plants to ban in the hope of being seen as being "tough on drugs" or "tough on organised crime" bah it makes me laugh !
