I was there last year...... the display was awesome...... I've never seen soooo many cacti in one place ever.......!!!!!!!........... just got there pretty late on the Sunday...... so there wasn't anything of interest on sale....... must have all sold out.......!!!!!!!

Hey Guys....... I got another question about posting things into Australia from the US.....!!!!!
Please refer to my last post "Spores from Overseas.....????".......!!!!!
OK.... so now.... this girl I'm getting the spores from...... she's got a spare Growing Kit lying around.... that one of her mates used.... but since, has stopped growing..... and says that she will send it over.. for only the cost of postage....!!!!......... Good deal I think....!!!!!.....
The only thing I am conserned about.... is that if opened at customer..... this obviously prooves intent to grow the spores that are sent to me...... I have told her to send them seperately....... and I mean I will only be using the Growing Kit to grow edibles.....!!!!!.......
.....do you guys think this will be a bit of a bad move on my part.......????????

Thanks guys........ yeah..... the other day just the petal fell off...... so I was hoping it had been pollinated and the ovary would stay and produce the fruit....... but I noticed this morning that the whole ovary section had fallen off ....... so yep...... no fruits for now.....

...OK..... I know this has been spoken about before...... and I have UTFSE....... and am still confused.......!!!!!!! (......It doesn't take much.......
...so here goes........ I recently became a member of the Shroomery ..... and one of the members... asked If I would like her to send me some spore prints........!!!!!!!!.... I am guessing she lives in the US.......!!!!
(...I have recently purchased a Microscope...... and would love to have a look at them ....FOR microscopy ...ONLY!!!!)
.... I know that prints are not illegal..... (....but Syringes are.... due to intent....!!!!!)
.... so my questions are..... have any of you guys mailed in prints from overseas.....????
.... and will my home be raided if opened by Customs.....??????......

Hey guys...... I just wanted to thank you all for the responses I got awhile ago ... on... why my HBWR wasn't flowering........ I repoted in a larger pot...... and cut my plant down a bit..... and PRESTO....!!!!!....... less than a month down the line....... and FLOWERS.......... sooooo proud........

..... the wife and I are thinking about giving up on the renting thing and look into buying a little place of our own....... we thinking about doing this in the next 4-5 months...... so as soon as.... if this happens..... I want to put my HBWR in the ground..... and give it something nice to grow on..... I am sure this will make things a lot better.....!!!!!!......
......as far as fertilisers...... I usually only give it a bit of Seasol...(weak..... same strength I give my cacti)...... about every 2 weeks...... water once every 2-3 days...... and bought some Miracle Grow...... which I have only used twice now.... in the last 3 weeks......!!!!..... I also put some slow release fert in the pot...... replace this every 3-4 months.....!!!!!!.....
Tomer....... that is a beautiful plant you got there...... those are big ass leaves...... very nice....!!!!!

Pisgah....... I actually have two plants in the one pot..... (which I hope will not cause any problems......)...... but the one grew beautifully and just went crazy in the first year...... the other grew to about 50cm....... then just stopped....... and didn't grow any further......... for about a year....... untill the beginning of this summer....... then just went crazy and over took the other plant ......!!!!!........ Plants always amaze me .......

AUSTRALIA'S drug regulator should decide whether medical use of cannabis is permitted, according to the head of the committee developing the first national cannabis strategy.
In a move likely to increase pressure on federal and state governments to allow medicinal use of the drug, Richard Mattick, chairman of the national cannabis strategy, said the Therapeutic Goods Administration determined the effectiveness and safety of medication, and cannabis should be treated the same way.
The TGA's role was to approve new therapeutics in Australia and it was up to it to determine whether medication was safe and effective, he said. "State politicians might comment on whether they think cannabis should be considered for therapeutic users, but the TGA is the group that protects your health and my health with regards to medicine, and to go outside those processes is foolhardy."
Former NSW premier Bob Carr announced in 2003 that the state would conduct a clinical trial of medicinal use of cannabis, but it never took place. The NSW Government is discussing with the Federal Government the establishment of a cannabis trial. The Victorian Government has ruled one out.
Professor Mattick, also the director of the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, is part of a panel of drug experts developing the cannabis strategy. It will be presented later this year to the Ministerial Council on Drug Strategy, which comprises health and police ministers.
Federal parliamentary secretary for health Christopher Pyne did not wish to comment, but has previously called for tougher cannabis penalties.
The chairman of the Premier's Drug Prevention Council in Victoria, Rob Moodie, said cannabis might have a place in palliative care, pain relief and HIV.
Problematic cannabis users should be dealt with in the health system rather than the criminal system, he said.

I have put him under shade...... won't be receiving any full sun for a long while.....!!!!!!

Hey Guys......
I planted some HBWR seeds I got from SAB almost 2 years ago....... and 2 plants germinated and are growing really well..... just wondering how long it takes until they start flowering........!!!!!!!...... it's also a bit weird ...... maybe there is something wrong........ but at night the leaves look good and then during the day when the sun gets on them..... they seem to droop a lot........ is this normal.......?????
...... just renting at the moment..... so I'm a bit cautious of them getting hold of anything too permanent........ got them hangin off a big nail that was left in the wall from the previous owners....... take a look.......
I am really proud of them......!!!!!!........

Wondering if anyone can help me out........ I bought Loph a couple of weeks ago...... put him out with the rest of my cacti....... and a week later went out to check on him....... and he had turned a pale yellow colour and gone all.... REALLY soft.......!!!!!!.......
......... I thought it might be a fungal thing so very quickly quarantined the little bugger and sprayed with a low dose of "Chemspray ZINEB" - which was the only funicide I had at the time........!!!!!!........ I haven't watered the loph at all.......!!!!!!....... now a few days later it's looking slightly better...... the yellow has turned more of a rusty red/orange...... and has hardened up a lot....... and there is still some green areas........
Do you reckon it's gonna survive......... was it a fungal thing...... or could something else have caused this.......???????

Wish I can come help out in some way...... but stuck here at work all week long...... no camping out in the bush for me........!!!!!!!!...... if there is anything I can do with out being there .... give me a shout....... will definately be going though...... if at least for only one day....!!!!!

AN AMERICAN student has been convicted of plotting with al-Qaeda to kill President George Bush and trying to mount a September 11-style terrorist attack in the United States.
Federal jurors convicted Ahmed Omar Abu Ali on all nine counts against him, including conspiracy to assassinate the President, conspiracy to commit aircraft piracy and providing material support to al-Qaeda. He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced on February 17.
The verdict in the US District Court in Alexandria, Virginia, on the jury's third day of deliberations, brings to a close one of the most hotly contested terrorism cases since the 2001 terror attacks. Abu Ali, 24, was arrested in Saudi Arabia in June 2003 and held there for 20 months. His parents campaigned for his release, suing the US Government and accusing it of condoning the torture of their son.
Abu Ali was charged on terrorism counts when flown back to the US in February. Prosecutors said he had confessed to his Saudi jailers that he joined an al-Qaeda cell there and was determined to kill Mr Bush by shooting him or blowing him. US police sources have said the plot to kill Mr Bush never advanced beyond talking.
Abu Ali said the confession was false and was beaten out of him by the Saudis. His lawyers portrayed him as a polite kid from northern Virginia who went to Saudi Arabia to pursue religious studies.
Khurrum Wahid, a lawyer for Abu Ali, indicated that he would appeal. "Obviously, the jury has spoken, but the fight is not over," he said.
"We plan to continue to use the justice system to pursue our client's innocence."
The 21/2-week trial, along with an earlier hearing that examined Abu Ali's claims of torture, revolved around the confession prosecutors said he gave to his Saudi jailers. The Saudi officers testified on video from Saudi Arabia, insisting that Abu Ali was well treated and confessed willingly.
Prosecutors told the jury that Abu Ali admitted that he discussed a variety of other plots with other members of his al-Qaeda cell, including crashing planes into targets in the US, killing members of Congress and blowing up US military aircraft.
