    A. obtusifolia seedlings not to good?

What I generally do is germinate Acacia seeds directly into 2 inch tubes. I make a mix of 5:4:1 peat\sand\perlite and put a ~3mm layer of vermiculite on top to keep moisture in with a little layer of perlite at the bottom of the tube for drainage. By the time it's necessary to move into bigger tubes the seedlings are generally ready to handle native potting mix with a bit of perlite or coarse sand mixed through.

    Perfect Datura Administration

It's interesting you say that - when I had my experience the entity that manifested and comprised a large chunk of my experience was the feminine archetype typically associated with Brugmansia, Datura and the other Solanacea tropane plants.

Just wanna say I'm sorry guys I didn't make it. Got to friday night and I realised I just had too much shit to do so going away for the weekend would cause me more stress than relief. Guess there's always next time.

    A. obtusifolia seedlings not to good?

The true leaves on the seedlings appear to going red yeah??? Phosphorous toxicity. Commercial native mixes can sometimes be too high in nutrient content for youngns, particularly phosphorous. For the first stages of seedling growth require no fert at all, and for particularly hardy Acacia's require little fert to grow in general. Burnt tips on mature phyllodes is a symptom. Try maybe a cheaper brand of native potting mix than osmocote or thrive... the cheaper ones are generally pretty nutrient low and don't contain as many additives like ferts and moisture retaining chemicals - this is actually a good thing for these seedlings. Maybe add some coarse sand to a 1:4 sand:mix ratio as well whilst they're that young. Edit: I just want to clarify that I know mild red colouration is common on obtusifolia, but my seedlings never showed it and also it's visible on some of your maidenii.

    Which Acacia to grow?

^^A. longifolia just grows well everywhere. It seems the most abundant Acacia species that I've seen, in NSW anyway. I agree with plant em all, but A. acuminata might be for your purposes the one that you should plant a couple extra. It's extremely hardy and fast growing, whilst being tolerant to most weather conditions and it's a useful one to work with.

I may not be able to make it unfortunately... I'm feeling pretty weighed down with uni work, I have to go to a prac on campus tomorrow arvo and I also haven't been able to organise a ride as of yet. Anybody with a spare seat from Sydney heading up in the late afternoon or early evening, or better yet heading up on saturday for the one night, please send me a PM.

    Surgery Admission

Lol hope you had something to eat before the schooner... one ends up pretty food and water deprived by the end of the fasting process for an endoscopy + colonoscopy. I'm pretty booze tolerant but after that procedure 1 beer + a smoke woulda nailed me. Also for that procedure it's not a proper general as such because it's such a short process, and they instead use propofol (to put into 'twilight sleep' as they call it) combined with midazolam so you're benzo'd and don't remember a fucking thing. They need you a lil responsive as they have to roll you over during (for the colonoscopy) and they can't risk needing to put on artificial respiration. They use propofol for surgical wisdom teeth removal as well.

I say nay to the walk in as well. Peeps will need them for keeping gear dry if the weather isn't wonderful I've found out there, and wet tracks probably will end up being problematic with 2wd cars. Last year I did 3 nights in shit weather with a few friends at the g-spot. Had a heaps good setup of tarps and the cars next to tents were a must. We had to end up bailing to a cabin for a 4th night because we forgot to keep firewood in the car and it got too difficult to start a new fire morning after the 3rd night. With the fire not happening the elements start feeling pretty shit pretty quickly.

You'll be missed Watertrade. I have a fuck load of uni work to do this week but if I put in the effort in the next few days it should be all good. Alrighty... I might need to inquire later about lift scabbing from Sydney later this week, depending on whether a couple of my mates which have joined previous camps end up coming and thus driving me. I'm told the area at the moment is much wetter than previous years from my mate who was up there yesterday i.e. massive pools and also streams where there never used to be. Gumboots and Aeroguard are essentials for the leeches when picking. Subs aren't overaly abundant yet but it's still really early. There will at least be enough around to feed the troops. Plenty of edibles though.

    first time beard grower :)

Great minds think alike. People always get reminded of my actual age (24) when I shave or trim down to a #0 or #1 length as I have always looked older than my age. And definitely agree with 'beards grow themselves, shaving is a task and growing a beard is the neglect of that task'. If you don't have a good facial hygiene ritual you need to introduce one to avoid that dead skin or itchy face issue. If you get a flaky scalp you will experience the same under your beard. Use a good fragrance free facial wash every time you shower and be sure to have a good solid exfoliating scrub to use once a week especially for when you decide to trim back down it back down... though if you beach regularly you can substitute the scrub for a good ole sand scrub when you're having a swim. Don't use soap because the high pH is not a good thing when you're trying to keep the oils on your skin properly balanced underneath the hair... also it will make your beard feel dry and stiff.

Yeah should be coming. Can't see why not at this point as long as I have all my uni work up to date by them. Amulte just moved around the corner from me so will try get him on board to bring some old member blood into the mix. In regards to the cold I personally don't think its as bad as made out as long as there is a good fire. Incognito mentioned the first camp being very cold (enough for a bowl of chop to freeze solid overnight lol), which was true but I haven't experienced those temperatures camping there since, especially this early into autumn. Best to be prepared anyway though, especially if its wet which is very likely given recent conditions. Season is def underway with mate's first finds beginning of month. Looking forward to gettin up there soon.

By mid-winter it often gets too cold for subs in Jenolan... still on in the Blue Mountains around that time though. Autumn seems the best...

do you think education should be free?

Trimester systems I think are the way to go. It shouldn't be compulsory but the option should be there. The idea of doing 9 subects over 3 trimesters is a much better way to learn than 8 over 2 semesters. Education for children should be free to those who don't want\can't afford private schools (which are crazily over-rated in terms of academia). Universities should cost money because the government sure as hell can't afford to give hundreds of millions of dollars into labs for science and massive IT infrastructure per university... I believe however the government should subsidize more of the cost for Australian citizens - a lecturer from Belgium told me how over there he did a masters and a PhD because a degree costs about 1 semesters worth of Australia's fees due to government subsidization. I also believe that there should not be different ATAR cut-offs for the same degree favoring those who's daddy is rich enough to pay fees upright.

    Toshiba Laptop Problem

^^^ Bahahah serious dude??? I'm a PC user and I'm running Ubuntu as well as LMDE. However I'm not going to pretend that a PC using a Linux GUI (command line can't really go wrong) doesn't have any bugs or problems. There are plenty of them, but they don't bother linux users because they are generally the type who can fix those things easily without it causing any bother. Everybody has their preference in this debate and it seems they will defend it to the death.

    Toshiba Laptop Problem

Then I happily stand corrected on that one. I've had a friend who had a bit of trouble after jailbreaking with warranty. I do remember something about a court case being one last year re: jailbreaking. Most of my friends who produce music insist they need macs - I tend to agree with them on that one. Personally I just don't like their products because I like to fuck with my shit so much... even my phone has 5 different clocking profiles for the CPU based on battery life and temperature lol. I ain't riled up. I wouldn't have started a sentence with 'dude' if I was ... generally in the riled up situation I lean towards words like 'douche' and 'jerk' .

Dude. I was giving one example of one of their devices to explain what that term Walled Garden meant.
  23. indigo264nm

    Toshiba Laptop Problem

By walled garden I assume he is talking about how Apple are crazy restrictive with their technology and software - allowing very few avenues for true customization and control over devices. A nice example is the iPhone - where you need to jailbreak (and thus void your warranty) in order to install third party software. In other words if you want to install apps, you are forced to go through the Apple market. Otherwise jailbreak - but once you do that you better be prepared to pay a fortune to repair if it turns out there is a hardware defect even if it's their fault.

    Toshiba Laptop Problem

If he didn't have previous posts I woulda guessed this as spam lol. I don't know why it's in the philosophy section either. Follow advice - load the BIOS up and see if it's a got a diagnostic program. This does sound terribly like an overheating issue. If there is no diagnostic program in the BIOS then get out your Toshiba recovery CD (or download and burn it one the toshiba support page). The diagnostic may take a while. Everything comes out okay??? Then follow the traditional windows procedure: Reformat. Re-install windows. Backup regularly. Repeat every 3-6 months.

    Ask the person below you

Most of the time, no. It's just like asking a stoner whether if they've been desperate enough to search the carpet in hope of finding a stray bud. Everybody does it - not everybody likes admitting to it. Does 'organised chaos' actually exist, or is it just a term people like me use to justify a lack of structure???
