I dont blame you for being cautious R.Jackson. What a sad indication that the U.S. is heading down the road of totalitarianism when one of its citizens cant exercise his freedom of speech without the fear of being targeted by unnacountable agents of his own government!

Hey Trip Dr, try 2 birds eye chillis dropped in a bottle. Very nice if your suffering from a cold or want to cleanse the nasal passages!

song lyrics that have changed your life,

Uriah Heep - Circus Walkin' around this concrete garden Viewing all in vain Thinking why a dream Is driving everyone insane Then something will come And make you feel The master in control Still you're picking up And screwing anyone Who's got a soul I've been here Far too long to remember Sights and sounds From this town of clowns Makin' up, dressin' up Walkin' around Thinkin' that you're Greta Garbos I'm sorry my dears But we only sat down And laughed and laughed in sorrow But it was you That opened the door And it's that we thank you for Everyone insane ... Everyone’s insane... This one was meaningful to me when I was young as it opened my eyes to the small conservative town I was living in where people got married young and "settled in " to the accepted straight lifestyle inculcated in their narrow upbringing. Broke free physically and spiritually and I aint never going back to that mindspace again!! -
Im guessing no.4 in strangebrew's cropped photo is the lovely lady eileen?

Yes, welcome aboard Charliewired, your right about the SAB forum as it's a true community of like minded knowledge seekers. Just wondering, do you have any traditional plant use unique to your specific area?
-
Yes, more or less agree with Rev. When you talk with each individual you can carefully judge how far and how much you can reveal/share with that person's self actualisation and headspace. Dropping "hints" in the conversation which are dual paths/responses will soon elicit the level of like mindedness or diversity. With this mechanism neither party need walk away and say "he's fuc*** straight" or he's Fuc*en bent, or he's together in life's synchronisity..or whatever. In fact tactful connections can be made discreetly and honestly.

Excellent 45 minute primer on geopolitics and how the two most abused words in the English language by the power elite is "freedom" and "liberty " (which is code for freedom to exploit and the liberty to plunder countries resources to the detriment of the majority of its citizens). G8, IMF, World Bank...all tools of the multinationals, which time and again fools the masses through media propaganda to acquiesce to the multinationals global predations on humanity

Yep,you convinced me it's a good buy Dom, ordered one today.....thanks! Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I asked if it came with an instruction manual and they said yes. You might want to chase that up with them as they may have omitted it from your shipment?

Yeap, all the best Torst! How many birthday candles you burning?

I was sitting around a campfire recently, and a log of Eremophila mitchellil (false sandlewood) was burning away and I remarked on the pleasant smell exuding from it. A friend of mine, an old cattle grazier made the comment that it was great for starting a campfire as even dead dry it has a high amount of volatile oil in it. He said he remembers his grandfather telling him that one night he was boiling a billy for tea on the fire and a piece of Eremophila mitchellil was sticking up over the billy and the heat of the fire made several drops of the timber's oil drop into the billy. Because his grandfather was in a hurry to get going he decided to make tea with the now contaminated water anyway. He drank the tea, packed up his camp and hopped onto his horse. For the next two hours he felt confused and started having hallucinations and swears it was the false sandlewood. I know that recently this timber has been identified as a termite resistant resource. What would be the best way to extract oil from the dried timber?

Dont worry Rev, Im not going to put my gnome into any undue risky undertaking...after all we only get one gnome. We will be approaching this very cautiously with appropriate research beforehand and contingency plans for the unplanned!
-
Thanks for that. Will try a boil and report results after I get my gnome to sample it

It says a lot about the state of the US regime when only the court jester is able to tell the king he has no clothes and get away with it!
-
OK. Looks like I'll have to set up a hot grow chamber for my next attempt. The harder plants are to germinate the greater the feeling of acheivement when you succeed!!
-
Excellent idea! Torst, do u have any unamed cultivars that could be employed???

Barry Mcguire's protest song 'eve of destruction' may yet prove to be correct....The US military/industrial complex under the neo-liberals and christian fundamentalists influence is out of control and nuclear mass murder is not far away....Ive got a bad feeling on the US imperialist response to Iran.... check out the link below...insane!!!! http://www.ucsusa.org/global_security/nucl...-animation.html

Yeah, I had no luck with my seeds. Put some in sterile coarse river sand and some in seed raising mixture. Its pretty hot and humid here in North Queensland, so temp wasnt an issue Has anybody had success yet, and if you did, waht did you do to produce the results?

What brand was it Hairy, I might get a bottle myself! LOL!

A plant scientist friend of mine told me that because they are so primitive, it is not easy to propagate them without the use of high technology...aw well, will be happy with just the one I've got!

Oh dear! The christian example was just one of many zee werp. Would the maoris carrying their own patrticular symbols(bone carvings) be politically correct? Or perhaps the tribes in south america who follow the Ayahusca road? I understand your objection to the commercial suggestion of a vehicle to carry something thati is respected by our community. Think of chakra stones...crystals dangling from aware peoples necks...prayer wheels from tibet....diifferent people and cultures expresing their view of the world by SYMBOLISM.....essential, intrinsic to all human societies! But most important of all, respect diversity of views!
-
Yep, I can can certainly see and agree with your point of view Zee werp..fu** thats bad glueing cacti to get extra sales! I totally agree that's consumerism gone mad. As is the cactus keyring. The dudes that designed that couldnt give a toss whataever cacti they squeezed in there..as long as they got the payola! But for me, to carry the sacred peyote with something I use often is a symbol of my beliefs and outlook, much the same as christians carry the crucifix Unlike the usncrupulous capitalists who foister such goods upon the consumerist masses, I would nurture my lopho till she outgrew her chamber (of my own construction), whereupon she would be repotted to a higher plain!
