  1. Hi guys,

I made the mistake of leaving for work a few hours earlier then I normally do on Sunday, and was randomly pulled over and breath tested by the police.

After the breathalyzer I found out I was driving while still over the limit with a reading of 0.065. Now I have to make a court appearance in May.

I was wondering if any members have been unfortunate enough to make the same mistake as myself, and if you could tell me what to expect?

I've tried to search for the likely penalties that I'll recieve, but they are vague at best, and say it really depends on the magistrate.

Any idea what sort of penality you think I'll recieve? Will it make a difference that this happened on the Easter Weekend?

  2. I used to watch it every now and then when it was on TV.. but was only a wee chap and didn't really follow it too well.

Then I watched the first series on DVD from the video store, and the Movie Fire, Walk with me. Really liked them, but haven't really had the motivation to ry track down any of the later series.

  3. The caverns that contain the crystals would have been filled with water up until a few years ago. They were only discovered and made accessible because of the local mining operation having an effect on the groundwater level.

Did someone say, "Holy shit, MrBumpy has paid attention to one of his lectures so far this semester" :)

  4. Anaimal worker / Custodian.

Does that mean you just clean out the shit in their cages?

That's all I do, but I do it for lab animals, so I get the title of animal technician. It makes me sound a lot more important at parties and stuff :)

Nearing the end of my engineering degree, where afterwards I shall go forth and rape the earth for it's minerals for a couple of years to make some mad coin.

My part time job at the moment is an animal technician

  6. ignore the description, just have to carry on like that the way TT and ACA do.

but did anyone catch their special exclusive report on drugs in Qld schools? Fuck some kids are getting some pretty sweet deals these days...

but anyway, they had two 14 yr old girls with hidden cameras trying to score drugs from people...to show how easy it is.

Now did anyone catch in the news TT had to make a nation wide apology for one of their reporters giving chains to an elderly lady so she could chain herself in her accomodation? Well, they made sure nothing like that would happen again, since at the end of the story there self-righteous clench jawed harpy reminded everyone (I'm kinda paraphrasin) that "no one from today tonight or the news team actually bought any drugs, and that the two 14 year old girls had their parents permission...and the tapes were today forwarded to the qld police"

Can anyone guess where I burst out laughing?

"the two 14 year old girls had their parents permission" It's good to know that its alright for a crappy current affairs show to break the law in the name of a story (there was footage of them holding the baggies and such..unless that was fake footage..but it's TT, they wouldn't make shit up for a story would they?)as long as they have the parents permission.

Fuck I hate today tonight, it makes me angry..... why do I watch these stories? sometimes it's fun to be angry

  7. Apoth : I've just been living out where you can see the stars in NW Qld for the past three months... however I was working at a mine, so probably not the kinda thing you had in mind?

  8. Anyone know the rules regarding washing your car under level four restrictions? After a week away I got home to find that while I was away, someone has puked on my car...and after sitting and baking in the sun for at least a week, I can't get the splatter off my windshield with only water and the squeegy thing at the servo.

  9. The poliuce have however discretionary powers which means they don't usually bother with the paperwork unless they feel they can use it as cause for a search etc.

I would have assumed Qld to also still have such a law. Will have to have a look.

Thats kinda the way it was explained to me by a police officer in high school (6 years ago, so very possibly could ave changed). He said that you could have a bong and a pipe and things, but they are illegal once they've been used with a dangerous drug ( I think it adds an extra charge if you are busted, can't remember what it was), but he also said that it is cause to be searched and stuff if you admit to an officer that the pipe of bong is going to be used for the use of a dangerous drug.

The example he gave was of those little pipes you could get on key chains. Saying that if an officer saw you with one, and asked what it was for, he couldn't do anything if you said it was for smoking tobacco, or just cause you like it as a key chain, but if you said "It's for smoking weed man" (thats the way he delivered it), then they will probably take a closer look at you.

sobriquet : re shops that sell bongs... have you tried of ya tree in the city? I haven't been there for quite a while, but they used to have a wide range.

Does HHH sell bongs and stuff? I haven't been to the one at west end... and I didn't realise there was one in the valley until I walked past it at the markets a month or so ago.

  10. Unfortunately I'm off to work in a copper mine during the summer holidays, so I don't think I'll be making it. I'm meant to be getting a 1 week break over christmas, but I don't think I'll be back by the 17th....if I am, I'm in.
